Yeah, I know, that's why I think there is something like a sensor out of alignment (if there is one, IDK). I have a glitch related to moving the shifter and the electronics in both NLS and ARM. I'll have the dealer look at it.

Gear indication has nothing to do with nls. You can do it from any gear to next as long as you’re in the right perameters. You’re talking about two different systems that are not interconnected.

For those feeling like they're harming the car, unimpressed, or think the NLS sucks... you are obviously doing it very wrong!
#1 issue I've seen personally is clutch pedal input prior to the actual shift. This usually fails to trigger the NLS mechanism and the RPMs go to redline. #2 operate the clutch different than any normal spirited shift. Let that baby go. #3 have the TCS "ON" in low traction situations. I personally dealt with this. NLS 1 -> 2 and sometimes 2 -> 3 and the car would bog upon completion of the NLS. Disabled TCS and like magic it was great again. #4 Executing a NLS at abnormally low RPMs I.E. not hitting the target range to begin with OR NLS shifting just above the required RPM. #5 not at WOT or letting up on the throttle slightly before shifting. For some people this is instinct. HOLD IT TO THE FLOOR! NLS is absolutely awesome in these cars and works so well. If your car is jerking or anything else crazy you are doing it very wrong. NLS is smooth and magical.

The one time I forced myself to try the NLS, it was magical.
My problem is my internal programming, where 40 years of driving a manual normally prevents my brain from allowing the right foot to stay on the floor while the left foot begins to press the clutch. There aren't a ton of times to perform the NLS on the street without driving like an a-hole in traffic, so it may take me some time to reprogram my shifting procedure.

Old timers called it power shifting in the Stone Age.
Post #17 above shows it perfectly. (That guy is a California street racing legend from the 60’s) I tried it for the first time last week and it worked perfectly.

I can't disagree with that!!! It was 100% unusual to me for a while too.
