What to replace with new cam?/recommendations

As title suggests I'm not sure what I would need to upgrade to upgrade my cam. Also hoping for a few suggestions for any packages or even just camshafts alone that would be a nice upgrade for an mostly otherwise stock ss. any tips or anything I appreciate thanks!

Lots of options in the NA world. Do you have E85 in your area where that might be an option with the cam shaft, gonna add headers, port the heads, intake and TB? You can spend as much as you want, you just can't get by cheap. You'll get lots of responses. You might want to consider boosting your ride also. I'm a little partial to what you should do, but I won't bring that up now.

Good thing my wife doesn't read these forums... that said, she does know about my new Maggie and didn't object, so I guess it's gonna be several dinners and lunches with both ladies

Dont go baby cam. Results are...o.k
Going through all that effort and money might as well put in something stout.
I am thinking of doing it again but with a healthy stick

You need to check out the Polluter cam we did a few months ago in my 16 Camaro. There is a thread on here about it. It made solid numbers and even though we didn't port the heads I have since found out by selling a few of them that they LOVE ported heads. We can also offer a cam and heap combo for the LT1.

Lots of factors that go into cam selection. The right cam can be a blast, the wrong cam is a pain in the ass. You need to find the cam and supporting upgrades that are right for your car. The best way to find the right cam for you is to contact vendors who specialize in selling cams and aftermarket parts. Often they have packages that include everything you will need; lifters/valvetrain necessities for one price. You might also want to check with shops who do installation and tuning to get recommendations and to understand what is typically involved with a cam swap (tuning, exhaust modifications, etc.)

GTO is obviously an Eagles Fan, right on to that. He is exactly right on the cam and supporting parts needed to produce great HP/Torque for daily driving or the track.

Whatever you do don't go with a VVT cam. Do the full 0 degree lockout. The general consensus seems to be that on these DI engines you can go with a fairly large cam and not lose any drivability. The next issue will be PTV...if you don't want to fly cut the pistons then you will be limited on how large you can go. a stage 2 from GPI or Pray with ported heads and MSD will get you 58x to the wheels.

I went with a stage 1 baby cam, so certainly agree with both of the above posts. Much learning has occured on these LT1s after they have been out for a while.

I am almost sold on getting a VVT cam from TSP or GPI. I thought VVT was the way to go with the LT1? Convince me otherwise as I want to know why going non VVT may be better. Thanks.

I do not want to speak for KingLT1 as he is very knowledgeable, but from my perspective I do not think there is anything wrong with a VVT cam with a cam phaser, however, I believe that for larger cams, shops are now using lockout blocks with the cam phaser to prevent timing from wandering. GPI has lockout blocks for its cam phaser kits and I would assume TSP does as well.
