What is the fuel cut out on 2018 SS 1LE in stock form? 6,500? 6,600? 6,750?

Sorry to ask, my car in in break in period, so I can't really test it without going to GM jail.

I believe the limiter kicks in at 6600?

Nicky Bobby, i think the key point is you were over reving lap after lap - every minute - pretty much
If this motor was good for 7000+rpm then this would be its redline...

If the head snaps off your intake valve at speed, your piston will disappear. No piston to control connecting rod, and rod will leave block.

Valve springs have a rating, when that is exceeded, the spring is now compromised. Once a spring fails, the valve is free to meet the piston.

Internal combustion.

You’ll have to put in heavy duty valve springs if you want to keep doing that with the new motor.

The trade off wth them is they need to be warmed up each time, as they are more brittle when cold.

Edit: even with valve springs 7200 rpm is pushing it. Unless you know what you’re doing I wouldn’t go much more than 6900

Once or twice, you probably wouldn't have had a problem. That video indicates it was happening multiple times every lap. Routinely exceed the operating parameters of any mechanical piece of equipment, and you should expect eventual failure.

At the end of the day it’s a torque focused motor with power all mid-rpm range. There’s not much going on above 6400, I would just keep the rev la in the meat of the powerband

Yea, I really don't know what the point of over-revving this kind of engine would be. Even if you're trying to keep the car in the power band for the next gear, it's pointless because of the really broad powerband. It's not a GT350 that actually *needs* to keep the revs up high to stay in the power.

As others have said why would you even raise the stock limiter? These motors aren't continuing to build HP over 62-6400RPM. Keeping the motor safe is more important than being able to get a couple extra MPH out of each gear.
