I would have to agree with the fact that it's hard to beat the performance of the ZL1 at this price point.

I may have mentioned this before....but what I am most impressed at is how stable the car is...it looks almost effortless. That may be the hardest part about engineering a fast car...

I remember when fen posted this month's ago, still amazed. I love the look of the car, actually everything about the car.
Not a big fan of FI due to heat soak issues because I do track days and saw how the 5th gen ZL1 performed against my NA SS motor, but gm did an amazing job to solving that issue. Then always a manual transmission Guy because of doing road coarse track days, but again, this new A10 auto is pretty amazing. Interested to see how Randy pobst does his eval of the car. Great job GM.

In the one early "test" that Chevy let magazines do, Randy took off 1-2 seconds with the A10 over the M6.

If that was the Motortrend article, the A10 was actually .29 seconds quicker. Which sort of surprised me, I thought it'd be quicker...but then, big willow is a high-speed track...

No doubt the A10 will make the biggest difference on the strip. A skilled manual driver on the circuit is not going to gain much by 200 millisecond shifts from a DCT/Auto.

I guess I just expected a bit more, considering the dramatic shift in the power band. I'd be real interested in seeing a lap time manual vs automatic on a track like Virginia Raceway.

Heat soak issues were fixed solely by the bigger/thicker s/c thermal plate that they currently offer for sale for the zo6?

There were a number of little things they did to this car to tweak is cooling efficiency. And then there's that enormous thing...the front grille(s).

OK. Now what? 1LE / ZL1 is out. 3 seconds faster on GM track....
What will 1LE Do? Longer track...more time to shave. 6 seconds? 8? 10 Seconds?

I was wondering the same thing. This thing could be faster than the Zo6
