Mylink trim W/O screen and head unit?

Hey everybody,

Been dormant a while but happy to be back lurking thinking about the next projects.

I am thinking about adding a touch screen double din to my 2010, but I don't really like the look of the aftermarket kits. I like the look of the trim on the mylink and the heater controls, but I don't want the mylink screen and factory options/limitations etc.

So my question is does anyone know if I can just buy the mylink trim with the heater controls etc. without the head unit and screen attached?

It's a 2010 so I don't have HUD, I'm not worried about losing that functionality. I want to purchase my own aftermaket head unit and integrate it to the mylink trim. I just don't know where or if I can purchase the trim.

I'm sure you good people have an idea!

I have seen some of the pieces for sale on this forum. I have been wondering when someone was going to do this. I was thinking about trying it myself but I will more than likely trade the car for a truck in a few days.

You can't buy the MyLink HVAC controls without the Screen. It comes as one unit. The headunit is separate.

I would imagine that a very clever installer could remove the MyLink screen from the rest of the frame and find a way to do what you want to do but I don't think it will be easy.

Ya it wouldn't work, the controls on the dash kit are all built into the screen and the brain has no screen.

I just sold the Mylink from my 2014 2ss for 850, programming will cost 200-300 because it won't work if it's not reprogrammed with your vin..

Wiring harness will run 200-300 as well.

so... 1250-1500 to add mylink.

Interesting.

I may just wait until prices come down, or figure something else out.

Thanks everyone
