2016 Camaro 1lt Convertible... should I buy it?
https://www.colonial-west.com/Vehicl...-MA/3335055933
Above shows the link to the car. I live in New England so 4 different seasons a year. Never owned a convertible before. I have test drive one for a week but it was in Florida in November (great time for weather down there). Is the price high? I could probably get it down $1500/$2000 in price. What do you guys think? |

Thats an interesting colour. With a vert in the winter you have to be careful scraping the ice off the windows especially the back. As for cold inside the car its no different than a coupe. I personally wanted the 2SS as it has the Lt1 and leather with heated steering ( best option ever made so far). The car is very snakey on snow covered roads even with snows on but thats how I like my winter cars. Loose is fast lol. I dont generally drive far in bad weather though. I have yet to drive it with the top down but I got it in start of winter. This is my second convertible and I feel this is the only way cars should be made. Toppless is always best.IMO. Im in Canada so I cant say anything on cost as its more expensive up here.

Doesn’t look to bad of a deal!!
Check for the shudder and what the hell did they use on the steering wheel leather? Armorall? Make sure they take whatever they put on it off leather is not supposed to be shiny. Check for any defects. Otherwise I dig it. |

Looks nice! Make sure wheels aren't all curb rashed.
We are looking at used SS's right now and every one we look at has marring all along the rim lips. Looks awful and is a pricey repair.

Blue velvet is a nice color in person. If you are into it and it is a good deal, go for it.

Carfax shows regular maintenance and a new top, but some issues and the steering recall. Colonial has serviced the car since purchase and they're local enough that you could go talk to the service manager about it. If Colonial/Colonial West hasn't fixed the recall yet or couldn't give me a level of comfort about the car and why the original owner sold it, I would not buy the car. On the other hand, maybe it's fine and the original owner just wanted something else after 3 years. Another thing to think about is used cars usually make $2-3k for the selling dealer. They make their money on the purchase, not the sale. So if they're truly offering it $2k below KBB, then they bought it for $5k below KBB... KBB trade in is $17-$19k and the dealer bought it for $15-16k. So maybe the previous owner was desperate to get out of it. Why might that be?
The good news is you have ~1k miles left on the warranty to check that all is working correctly, and you can buy an extended GM warranty. Also the dealer might have $1-2k more to move on the price or offer that extended warranty included. You have leverage here. Use it. https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...F372CE0C3EF542 10/05/2018 32,277 Colonial Chevrolet Acton, MA 978-263-1000 buycolonialchevrolet .com Convertible top replaced/repaired Radio/sound system checked Drivability/performance checked Exterior trim checked 10/17/2018 Colonial Chevrolet Acton, MA 978-263-1000 buycolonialchevrolet .com Shift lever/assembly replaced Exterior trim checked 11/07/2018 General Motors Manufacturer Customer Satisfaction Program issued Program #N182161890 LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST - EXPIRES NOVEMBER 30, 2020 Status: Remedy Available Last edited by Gunkk; 03-15-2019 at 05:24 AM. |

I'm kinda like Gunk, seems a bit pricey. Not a steal at all.
