Looking to buy ZL1 1LE. Need Inspection advice

Hello,

I am looking to purchase a 2018 ZL1 1LE and was wondering if I could get some advice on what things to inspect on the car. I am looking to buy a 2018 used car that has 9K miles. What are some of things I should be inspecting closely?

What should the transmission feel like? I own a C6 GS and the 2nd gear on that car is hard when the car is cold. Why is it that some of the ZL1 i see around are missing half of the coolant in the reservoir? is that a problem? or something normal for this car?

What should the oil pressure range? This will be my first supercharged car so no quite familiar there. so what things to look for to make sure that system is good.

Overall, just give me ideas on what to watch out for.

Engine coolant: Top tank completely full, bottom tank half full.
Oil pressure: 25-35psi at warm idle, 40-50 under load.

Leak test the motor
Any trouble codes?
Connect HPTuners and log engine data
Look at service records
Where are the car's warranties?

Is it normal for the shifter on a M6 to shake all over the place while on gear and under acceleration? It is really distracting and my C6 does not have that type of issue.

Took a look today at the car. Still have until aug 2021 for bumper to bumper. No codes. Car broke great. Really not as hard ride as I was expecting based on other ppl input but again my daily driver is so harsh that nothing can be worse than this.

Lots of rock chips on the fender edges inside the wheel wells..and the tips need a massive clean up. The last owner probably never cleaned them or sprayed them back inside.

I wouldn’t personally shy away from track use, unless owner tried to hide or conceal it. Indications of track use: heat checked front rotors (micro-cracks), discolored rear rotors. Also, the camber plates on front scratch super easy. Almost impossible to turn them without scratching some of the blue anodizing off- that would tell you if it had ever been in ‘Track Camber’.

So back to the shifter shaking... Is it normal? It is insane the amount of shaking.

Yes, it does move around a bit. My former SS 1LE did the same. My C7 Grand Sport did not move at all while driving, at least not as perceptible. My ZL1 1LE is also a manual and it moves around just like the SS 1LE did. Completely normal for these cars I’d say.

I would not call what I see as an ‘insane’ amount of shaking though. Hard to determine without seeing a video of what you’re referring to.

I'll try to get a video. I mean I have driven tractor trailers in the past with manual transmission and their long stuff shift shakes everywhere. That's kinda how this ZLE is like..

I ended up pick up the car so I'll try to make a video at some point

Just got my '19 ZL1 1LE and in 6th gear I noticed the shifter was rocking and rolling. It was my first hour plus highway drive so I was wondering if it was new or something I'd never noticed before - sounds like it's common.

I haven't had a chance to drive mine munch lately. I will record a video when I get a chance but honestly mine shifter shakes a lot compared to my C6. I mean the C6 shakes but not as much.

Also i am OCD like i tend to notice and care about things that most ppl will not even realize.

The shifter shake is normal but is admittedly more than any other manual Ive owned, seems totally benign/normal just unusual.

The difference between the Camaro and Corvette's transmission selection lever vibrating is that the Corvette uses a TRANSAXLE.
