ZLE Tires - size and weights
I’m not sure if this is something anyone would find helpful, but I figured I would post it here for future reference.
I swapped the GY Supercar 3 R’s on my ZLE for a new set of Michelin PS 4s. While in the process, I was curious about any weight differences in the tires. There wasn’t much difference. Here’s what I discovered: Michelin PS4s: Front 305/30R19 - 29.8 #’s Rear 325/30R19- 32.4 #’s Goodyear SC3R: Front 305/30R19- 29.2 #’s Rear 325/30R19- 30.4 #’s The Michelin PS4s mounted on a stock ZLE wheel: Front- 57.4 #’s Rear- 59.8 #’s Unfortunately, I didn’t weigh the stock GY SC 3R’s while mounted on the stock wheels. But, the math with the above info should be easy enough. These were weighed with the TPMS and center caps installed on the wheel and fully inflated tire to 34 psi. The GY SC 3 R’s have 4400 street miles (no track time on this set) on them at the time of this swap. Still plenty of tread left and I don’t think this mileage affected their weight too significantly. So there it is, in case anyone else was curious about the tire weights. |

I’m a fan of the Continental Extreme Contact Sports. To be clear they have not been tracked by me but just want to add the weights. Front for ZLE 27lbs per TireRack and rears 31lbs.

I recall from my recent purchase the 4S is a couple pounds lighter per tire than the standard SC tire. (Non R)

They are pretty good to me. I cannot compare to anything else though. I replaced the stock GY’s for these at less than 40mi and have not used anything else. Just for reference, I developed a gouge in one of the right rear sidewalls at 17,500mi and replaced both rears at that time on Tuesday. So for anyone wanting to replace the factory tires here is the tread depth I had.
Front left: Full 17500mi..tread depth is 7/32 Front right: 5500mi..tread depth 9/32 (This tire was replace after a blow out from hitting a pot hole) Rears had 4/32 tread at 17500mi. I replace them because of the gouge in one of them. In summary it seems I will go through two sets of rears per one front but I drive like a grandpa fwiw. |

I just got some for my street setup & am super impressed so far. Much cheaper than the alternatives & they hook so much better in the cold or wet

Yeah everywhere I’ve looked the Continentals are $200 a set cheaper and the reviews were real good that’s why I went with them initially. I’ll go for a spin even with temps in the low 40s.

I’ve had mine out in the low 30’s & they still hooked up reasonably well. Wasn’t a frightening ride at all like it was with the 3R’s in those temps.
