Chevrolet accident repair UK
Do any of my fellow anoraks,on this forum, know of any 'ex' Chevvy dealers in the U.K.who will not shrug their shoulders, at the opportunity to repair my damaged Z28?
I say 'ex' because, since Chevrolet pulled out of selling proper Chevvys' in the U.K.,when you need a bit of help, they become tone deaf. |

I went to Chevrolet near me and they said that there are only two in England.
Toomey Basildon and W H Brand near Spalding Hope this helps. |

Hey Derek, gutted for you fella, photo literally made my jaw drop BUT; close look at pic suggests (to me at least) that's eminently and easily repairable. Fascia, wing, assorted grille/trim bits etc. As long as the alignment geometry is fine you should be up & running soon. I recollect you're Worthing way so you got several options; I use Toomey Chevrolet at Basildon for servicing and stuff and their technician Paul is a first class Camaro-trained guy. Another option is Ian Allan Motors near Virginia Water - they tout themselves as a "UK Officially- appointed" Camaro specialist. Never used 'em myself but some of the guys may have done. Real sorry buddy and hope you get the black beast purring soon.
Few weeks back a large-ish deer ran out in front of me in the company car and it crossed my mind that one day I could be leathering the SS along our lanes instead of the company heap - there but for the grace of god and all that old b0110cks... Keep us all posted on how it goes. Ed

Cheers Ed,that's good info,I will give Toomeys a tinkle on Monday.
I'm still waiting for contact from the loss adjuster,...he's probably keeping his head down, for fear of the expensive consequences Somebody looked at it today and his view is similar to yours, luckily the low speed of impact might be my saving grace. The 'bulkhead plate,(I think it's called) in front of the Rad' looks like it's taken most of the impact, that and the plastics....so fingers crossed. Thanks for your imput. |

this is an 80k+ car with maybe 10-15k work (at the most expensive place) = no brainer

Would agree this suggestion Zebedee; Trevor's (UKblSS) work is first class - not too far from you, source the bits thru Pete and you'll have someone repairing your car who really knows (and cares) about Camaros. Plus I'd say a lot less than £10k too.....

Shouldn't be too long until it's back on the road I hope, im gutted for you, but at least it's fixable. Be careful with UK companies, someone on here (who shall remain nameless) had a minor scrape on the rear bumper, the car went into repair for 4 months because the auto electrician screwed up all the electronics, £15,000 repair and all it needed was new LED resistor, a bulb and bumper respray.
