Take that back. Just installed the CAI and this thing sounds like a beast. Anything above 4500 rpm and it sounds wicked. Way more aggressive than a Bumblebee.

OK, well...wimpy? Restrained? Non-existent? Like-my-462-if-a-pillow-was-stuffed-in-each-muffler? Unless you get yourself an aftermarket exhaust, these cars sound like my '87 non-turbo Regal. I've yet to hear any gasoline powered car registered for the street that was louder than my uncle's 400 V8 slingshot running on alcohol, or that howled more under acceleration. It made the sidewalk outside the garage shake at idle. On the track, from halfway down the 1/4 mile, it sounded like the Valkyries of Valhalla were stopping by.

Mine sounds like a L99 with long tubes, no cats, and SW Retro pipes.
If it sounded like an animal I'd be concerned. Had kittens crawl into engine bays before. Never again. |
