Need some knowledge on aftermarket radio install
I have a 2011 camaro that’s a race car that I’m keeping somewhat streetable.
I don’t have a factory ECM, I did keep the BCM to run the needed accessories. I don’t have AC but kept the Hvac all in place and the blower still runs which is enough for me. From what I had researched with out the ecm the factory radio wouldnt work, so I pulled it. I still have the factory amp in the car. I had bought a used missing parts metra 993010-s with basically just the AC plug and no radio controls. I bought a cheap single din android 9” screen head unit. I bought a wire harness pig tail that plugs to the factory radio harness. I have a removable steering wheel so no need for steering wheel controls. All I need is Bluetooth to play music, no bells and whistles. I wired up the pig tail to the radio harness last night, color matched wires. Plugged it in and nothing! Plugged in the metra dash and now hvac is working but blower is slow reacting and the controls for the dash to floor vent is not working now. Am I missing something, I’m not a expert at radios but have wired them up before just not on newer cars. I have tried finding info and haven’t came up with anything. All I can see is maybe the amp isn't being turned on but why isn’t the radio coming on. I’m going to put 12v to the radio to see if it powers up today. Just seeing if anyone has any knowledge of what I am missing. Thanks for any help |
