GM Performance short-throw shift kit, for V6 1LE

I got an email with a 15% discount code for Chevy Performance parts, and I looked to see what's available. A short-throw shift kit is appealing to me, I think my V6 1LE could benefit from it. However, when I searched the Chevy website for available performance parts by my VIN #, it didn't show the shift kit as an available part. But the shift kit did show up when I searched by model, LS V6. I don't think the V6 1LE shifter is different from a regular V6 MT. The short-throw kit should fit my car and provide some benefit, right?
Has anybody put a short-throw shift kit on their V6 1LE?
And, last question I promise, what do you think the install time would be? On the GM website, if I chose dealer install, it wanted to charge me over $400 for labor. Is it a big job? I'm a klutz and wouldn't try this myself, but should I expect my efficient and cheap independent mechanic to do the install for less?

According to the 2019 1LE Specs the V6 1LE comes with the short shifter. Not sure if it did for your model year, but I thought all 1LE already had it.

Either way, it's not an easy DIY. Check out the install HERE
