Random dude prefers my Camaro to $92K Lexus
So I was pumping gas today and checking out a funky looking 2018 Lexus LC at the pump directly to my left - I actually had no clue what it was until I got home and looked it up. It starts at $92K and has a 5.0L V8 with 471 hp / 398 lb-ft. Its dimensions, wheel base, and weight are very similar to the 5th gen Camaro - even the 20" wheels and staggered tire sizes are the exact same. Here's a link to its info: http://www.lexus.com/models/LC
Anyways, a random dude walked directly between our cars to get from the store in front to his truck parked behind us. The random dude totally ignored the $92K Lexus and could not take his eyes off my car! He offered up several compliments and even after I told him it was "just the V6" he said he still loved it. I felt kind of bad for the Lexus guy - LOL Pics of a Lexus LC and my Camaro to compare: |

Personally, I think that model Lexus is badass.....guess looks will always be subjective.

It was a very nice looking car - first time I ever saw one. For a second I thought it was the Lexus LFA because of the air scoop in front of the rear wheel. A bit too funky looking for my taste though - if someone gave it to me I'd probably sell it and buy a ZL1 vert

Love the looks of the LC. About as bassass looking as I could ever image a Lexus could ever be.

The LC 500 is no joke. Great car. Road & Track or Car & Driver did a nice write up on it as those are the two I get.

This does not surprise me. Have you seen how ugly those cars are? The grill looks like a distorted grid. Very tasteless and gross design from my perspective. Not worth $45,000, let alone $92,000.
Nice Camaro you have, it's very clean.

The 10-speed trans would make it a hand full in the 1/4.

You would think - but according to this review it only does the quarter in 13.2 sec @ 110.2 mph. They blamed the 2.94 rear diff and the as-tested weight of 4,370 pounds.

The Lexus' weight and lack of a manual transmission are deal-breakers. With extreme effort, I might be able to get past the grille. But that's ignoring the fact that Camaro money would only buy about half of an LC.
