I just purchased a used 2012 SS/RS with 26K miles on it. I've noticed that while idling, it feels a little "rough" for lack of a better word. Sort of a shake to it. Nothing major, but I can just feel it. And, upon acceleration, it feels a little hesitant. I traded a V6 for the SS and wasn't sure about the way it should feel, since it has a larger engine. I've only put 93 in it (filled up 2X so far) so I'm just wondering, if the dealer had only put in 87, would it still be effecting performance at this point? I'm reading about fuse pulling, and wondering if it's something I should try. Any thoughts?

I did it and there was no change. The car still hesitates.

Just put my fuses back in, wow...I'm running at 1100 rpm at 50mph opposed to 2300 which I was before, accelerations improved too. Nice call boy and girls.

The fuse pull changed your gearing?

did it over the week end and let it set for about 7 hrs from 7:15 am til about 2 PM. and drove it this morning for the first time since the fuse pulls, babied it to the local convenience store and dropped the hammer when I left the store. it felt a little more aggressive but I can't say it felt a lot different the last time I hammered it. will give it a few days and see if I can detect any differences. babied it coming home since the road was wet and I don't like mucking her up when it is rainy outside! mostly did it for the heck of it. not expecting much since I am pretty happy with the power and performance any way! probably still in the high octane table anyway!

Fuse Pull: Low Octane Fuel Fix For L99 and LS3. Reset Fuel Map for High Octa...

Did this on my LS3 and see an improvement. About to pick up my 1LE this week after the stupid recall. Salesman told me he filled my tank up with gas so I asked if he put premium in and after a pause he said yes even though it doesn't require it. I told him that he might want to know some more facts first about the Camaros he sells before he sells a few more. Let him know that manual suggests 93 octane but 91 octane can be used if 93 is not available. Which I live in CA so 91 octane it is.After that tank is gone then time for the fuse pull

I did the fuse pull twice, it worked but the problem is that my Fuel Mapping keeps reverting back to the 87 octane mapping. I've been using 91+ octane since I've had the car.

How do you determine that it has reverted back?

two tanks of 91 with an added octane booster & 2 hour fuse pull - now it runs great with no rough idles.

Tried it last night, can't say I feel any difference. However, it could explain why so many test drives left me a little disappointed in the SS and how the one I bought impressed me on the test drive which is a 2010 even compared to a brand new 2014.

Just did mine the other night. Left fuses out from 8pm to 5am. Did my normal 61 mile commute (58 of which is highway at 75mph). I gained .8 mpg. Acceleration felt the same. Maybe I was already running the correct fuel mapping? On this highway commute, using cruise control on 75, the best I can get is 19.9 mpg
