I realize this is an old thread, but:

How do I see the settings for the NPP valves? My ECU and TCM have been tuned by a shop, using their hpTuner interface. When I connect my interface to the vehicle, and "read entire" for ECU, TCM, and CCM, it reads the ECU, TCM, and then fails to read the CCM. However, an error message stating that "the tune file is being supplied with a stock file since the control module is not readable". Comes up. When I then look at the file, I am not seeing any settings under system regarding exhaust valves.

Note the CCM has not been licensed, but from my understanding, I won't license it until I try to flash a new file to the module.

Can anyone shed light on this?

These settings come from the fuel system control module (FSCM) and appear under System > General > Active Exhaust, see below.

Not sure why your HPT says it wants to read the central control module and not the FSCM when you select "read entire", it should definitely be able to read everything, including the FSCM, whether or not you have credits. Do you have the MPVI2 interface or the older one?

Hmm, I didn't have FSCM as an option when I gather data. ECM, TCM and CCM, only. Car is a 2018 a10 and I am using the older MPVI1 interface with the latest hpTuner suite software.

I definitely don't have those active exhaust options under system-> general. In fact, I have alternator and Starter relay, but not even the same options as you are showing under alternator.

Very weird. In case it helps, see the tune details for the result of my "read entire" operation.

I'm out of my depth here, but I can think of three things:

1) your older MPVI1 interface has some compatibility issue with this module,
2) your HP Tuners version may not support these parameters—but then you say you have the latest (I'm using 4.4.4, which is not the latest, and reading the tune worked fine), or
3) your tuner did something to the calibration that makes reading the FSCM impossible.

Hopefully someone near you can help you out with an MPVI2 to at least test the first hypothesis, this would be the simplest initial thing to check.

I am actually wondering if our differences are due to the fact you have an SS and I have a ZL1? From what I have read, the ZL1 has the CCM, which controls the FSCM capabilities. Wondering if I need to read it when the servers at hpTuners are online. If it's not that, then perhaps your scenario 1 is the issue, thought I thought the MPVi1/2 could read the same parameters given the same software is being used. Odd.

Yeah, this would be worth a shot in the HP Tuners forums. Existing threads there are inconclusive, but some hinted at the FSCM/CCM being encrypted in the 6th gen ZL1.

I think I got it. I read the CCM again this morning, it failed once, reread and it pulled the CCM file (my guess is it needed to get a ping on the hpT server). I now see the NPP settings under the system menu.

arpad_m, what do the dates / numbers in your signature represent? Thanks for your assistance.

Awesome, glad you made it work Thanks for the pingback info, I didn't know it needed data from the mothership.

My sig reflects the timeline and status code changes for my order I placed for this SS in 2018.

No problem and thanks again! I was able to use some info KingLT1 previously posted (thanks!) to get my CCM tuned to keep valves where I want them. And for those wondering, 18+ ZL1 requires 3 credits ($150) to tune the CCM (ZL1 has CCM whereas SS has FSCM).

Thread revival. Having a similar issue trying to read the C304a CCM on my Brother's 2019 ZL1 A10. It just fails on read attempt then says:

"Controller unlocker: web service- response pending, try again in 15min."

Perhaps I need to try during HPtuners regular business hours? I asked on HPt and received a response from Bill to open a support ticket which requires jumping through a bunch of hoops. Hoping somebody might have a quick answer?

Thx

Were you trying on Dec 4th? HPT said their server was going to be down on Dec 4, just a thought.

Yep I was but this also was the second attempt. I tried to license it about a month ago as well and it said the same thing. Will try again another day not on the weekend. Thanks for the heads up!

Just wanted to update. The issue was HPt didn't have it supported yet. I had to file a support ticket then get it added. Once they did that I was able to connect to the internet and license the controller.
