Car is officially at the dealership now. Had one of the service managers take a ride with me and definitely felt the vibrations as if it was driving over a rumble strip.

I am pretty sure it's the torque converter.

Will update accordingly.

I got my 2017 1SS 2 weeks ago, I have almost 800 miles on it, same issue everyone else is describing. 65 to 80 mph, feels like i am running over small rumble strips, slips in 1st and 2nd when the tranny temp is cold. It's going to the shop this week to see if they can do anything...

Well, got my car back they said something about a Service Bulletin, and ended up reflashing the trans.

Drove it for 10 minutes , got my hopes up, and it starts to shudder going up a hill.

Definitely not as bad but there's definitely an issue. It is also annoying when WOT going from 4th to 5th it slips. Smh back to the dealership Friday.

So I have dropped my car off and received a loaner. I want to start by saying that the service team at Day's Chevrolet in Acworth GA is awesome, they have always taken care of me and all of my vehicles. I Spoke with the transmission specialist and judging by what he felt during the test ride, they will do the fluid flush, transmission filter, and TCM reprogramming. If the issue continues, then they will replace the torque converter.

On top of that, I am also having My Link issues so that will be addressed with a software update. The selling dealer also drilled my license plate holes incorrectly (about an inch too wide on either side of the plate, didn't bother using the dimples molded into the bumper from the factory). They will be plastic welding the holes in my bumper and repainting it, even though I would have liked a new bumper.

Three weeks and 875 miles into my third Camaro and I'm pretty aggravated with the whole situation. My last Camaro spent over 2 weeks in the shop due to multiple fit an finish issues and the Camaro before that spent almost a month in the shop due to a mix of electric issues, fit and finish, and a failed engine. I love these cars, they are amazingly capable machines but these issues continuing to pop up are really starting to put a sour taste in my mouth...

They tell me I have to put back the original air cleaner before they will troubleshoot my transmission / Torque Converter problem.

It has nothing to do with this issue ! Seriously ? I am so frustrated right now.
They will try to get out of any warranty work...typical crap GM dealer/service! Just change it and if they atill refuse go elsewhere.

Add me to the list, 5500 miles. Noticing it on highway when cruising and I give it a little gas, I get the shudder/rumblestrip effect. :-(

Drop mine off at the dealership last night. They already re-flashed it. Biggest thing is in the morning at slow speeds the 1st shift from 1st to 2nd is really hard and only doing about 6 to 10 mph. Told them we are in year 2017 we shouldn't have to wait to warm up a car anymore. But i am getting that shudder at 4cyl to 8cyl. Havn't heard anything yet.

The ZF 8 trans in the BMW, Jaguar, and FCA vehicles all experience the exact same. You can check out numerous threads about it in their respective forums. What exactly causes it I have not heard explained technically. But it is not an "issue" and is normal behavior.

since most shudder is from the clutches for lockup, and some use the anti-shudder additive...

circle D stated that the stock converters use paper clutches basically and they switch to carbon based clutches when you upgrade...

could it be the clutch material in all of these brands of trans?

Interesting but not sure if the clutch material is what is causing the rough time shift 1-2 and 2-1. Someone more knowledgeable about autos will have to comment. It definitely sounds like ZF and GM share something in their designs for the problem to be common to both.

So the dealer did a flush 3 times and said GM will only let them do that first. If it still does it then they will change the converter. The Tech and adviser both think it will not be fixed. So i am picking the car up on Saturday and i have to put 200 miles it it. So i am hoping it it all fix but we will see.

My dealer went directly to replace the converter. Now car drives like it should.

I'm taking my A8 into the dealer on Monday to have this AND the groaning rear diff looked at. Did the tech's test drive your guy's/gal's cars to experience the transmission problem or does plugging it up and scanning show some warning signs?

Just to follow up, Lone Star in Houston were wonderful in taking care of me and my car. They went straight to converter replacement, and it solved the issue 100%.
