Of course we know that non-domestic new vehicle lines are introduced in Asia or Europe a model year before North America because the manufacturers realize when their vehicles are assembled off shore there will be no quality issues and definitely no need for safety recalls because only North American vehicles roll off the line flawed.

It sucks that this happened to you... and I even more surprised that the QC holds didnt catch this... I am thinking maybe something happened during the transport that led to this probable loose connection..

anyways I think all the people who are awaiting their early builds, this is a good sign that perhaps this was caught on those builds..and maybe they are fixing this probable issue... i would be real mad if this kind of things happens on the first day I drive off the lot..

and I dont buy the BS that all other car manufacturers release their car without glitches.. I agree with Tr6 here... thats why we see large amounts of recalls day in and out..

Ok, I feel I need to say something. On my Z, I caused the code by adding a supercharger and swapping pulleys etc. still annoyed me. lol. Enough so I sold it. They get old. GM will fix it. No biggie.

To add another car of the year... Our GTI has had three water pumps in 18 months. It happens. Love the car still. Our Ram also had major recalls. Fixed. Love the truck. No need to lose sleep.

Wish I had my camaro. lol

Not an acceptable excuse in 2016.
I agree. Built in Detroit huh? Hummmm. Not a good beginning.

I got the car over to a trusted local dealer earlier today. They called within a few hours and said the wiring is good, its the fuel level sensor itself that's not giving a signal. So they ordered a new one and it should be here Wednesday. I guess I'm not thrilled my car has to come apart already to change that but I really liked everyone at the service department, the service advisor is even a member here, and they gave me complete faith that everything will be good. Hopefully I'll have it back Wednesday or Thursday. In the meantime, they gave me a 2016 Silverado to drive and its quite nice

I wouldn't be thrilled either - hope it is 100% when you get it back.

Not an acceptable excuse in 2016.

Name a manufacturer on a brand new car from the ground up and I'll shove a few examples down your throat for your reading pleasure

Already got the car back today and it's perfect! The new sensor came in early and they got it replaced! The note says the sensor arm was bent. Car was running great all the way home and the fuel gauge looked good. Big shout out to Parkway Chevrolet and David Croft. They took great care of my car and have an awesome service department.

Sweet.

Glad to hear they took care of you so fast. It's nice to hear a good dealer story around here...they seem to take a bashing most of the time on C5. lol
