Ring and pinion break in Q
Quick question. I am at the 500 mile break in point for my new gears. Tomorrow I will be changing the gear oil and from my understanding break in should be done. My question is, on every gear and pinion break in post or instructional I’ve read they talk about the same slow 500 mile break in period and have a secondary break in instruction for towing once 500 miles has been reached. Do I have a similar secondary break in before I can start doing pulls, burnouts and generally just acting a fool?

Ditto. I did 3.91's over 3 years ago. Never did any break in BS. Sent it from day one. Still going like new. Go figure.

Let me ask you this, when you bought the car did you do any kind of break in for the gears? GM sure didn't.
