I'm new, just bought a 2020 SS Convertible. The first thing I did was take off the run flat summer tires in favor a conventional set of Conti Extreme Contact. I was going to carry a pump and plug kit but this seems like the way to go. I ordered the spare today, anxious to see how it fits and how much room is left in the trunk.

This is how it fits in my 2016 2SS convertible. Space is tight but it fits under the top without touching. Note that the divider has to be disconnected at the bottom to be able to raise or lower the top. Clearance is too tight to be able get the spare in or out with the top down.

Yikes - Does the cover for the spare at least include a slot for your toothbrush in case you’re going on a trip? Otherwise, I guess all you can do is throw your stuff on the upholstered package shelf behind the front seats.
Have you tried using a small magnet at the top right attaching point to fool the lockout so you don’t have to use the divider? |

Just to be clear..... this fits under the convertible top, with it down? The divider just needs detached at the bottom? And the spare slid far rearward?
Or????? |

No, there isn’t much space left after you put the spare into the trunk. The 5th Gen convertibles have more trunk space than the 6th Gens. |

Is there room for a jack and lug wrench or are we using AAA?

Wow, thanks for the pics! I think I'll go with a plug and pump kit.

The magnet defeats the sensor allowing the divider to stay down and the top to function, |

Max diameter difference?
According to the Modern Spare website, the rolling diameter of their spare is 26.5". I have a 2017 2SS with the 6MT so it has a limited slip differential. Wanting to go with a non run flat square setup and get this spare. What is the max diameter differential you can have and not screw up the limited slip? Or, if I got a flat on the rear would it just be best to put the spare on the front and move one of those matching tires to the rear?

Yep, the spare is pretty tight back there. As far as securing it, I did think of Velcro, but unless it’s sewn on, I’m not certain how well it will hold up. My other concern is that the tire is stuck to the lower panel, which looks like it would be subject to movement, especially up towards the retracted top. I’m going to try and devise a strap set up that will secure the tire to one or both of the styrofoam retainers. Or, I may come up with something else altogether. Either way, I’ll share my thoughts when I know more / have time to invest in this.

In the world of Cell Phones, OnStar and TPMS sensors is a spare tire really that important.

Obviously, you’ve never had a blowout in a remote area in the middle of the night.
