I’m dumb and didn’t check the manual, ordered the fluid for manuals instead of auto. The owners manual calls for 88863089 for the auto, but I called a dealer and they said that 19352759 replaced that.

Got a bottle of the manual fluid (88862624) I gotta return but got the auto fluid coming in now

I've got 1000 miles or so on mine now. Only delaying it because I am waiting on the jack pads to show up.

Once it's here, I will do it. Already got the fluid and hand pump.

I was a bit confused with the several part numbers listed. Here's what I found with the correction noted above.

I am gonna put mine up for reference.

2200 miles(3600 km) on the fluid. The fluid looks pretty dark and nasty and the amount of shaving is substantial as well.

With my anecdotal observation, I would recommend a change after break-in as well.

Is this an LSD or open diff?

For an open diff I'd imagine it will stay clean pretty easily, while the LSD probably depends on how you drive. If you drive it hard, there will be more clutch material in the fluid.

I did my diff at 500 and 1,500 miles, both the fluid looked really good but there was "sludge" on the magnetic drain plug both times... I just plan to drain/fill mine every 6,000 miles going forward, it is easy and cheap to do... (I do all this stuff myself)

True, it’s open. When I changed mine I noticed no difference in driving at all. Like I had my transmission fluid flushed and it was a completely different experience but was kinda bummed after changing the diff fluid

Change it, fluid is cheap, parts are not...

After reading this thread I decided to go ahead and change my diff fluid out again. I first did it when it had about 1000 miles on it and it had some accumulation on the magnets. It has 11,000 on it now and looks just like UnknownJinX's fluid. This time it was black and a good amount of sludge on the magnets.I don't track mine but do drive it spiritedly. If you do yours be sure to take the top fill plug out first. If you do the lower plug first then can't get the fill plug out you're screwed. Mine came out easily but that may be because I did it previously.

I got 16K miles on my 2016, V6 manual with LSD. I drive it very light although after reading this post I am going to change it for sure over the next 2 weekends. I have no groans or funny noises out of it, the LSD works perfectly.

After seeing this, I am gonna do another fluid change just to make sure it's clean, and also to put something nicer in there(Motul Gear 300 LS). Also gonna swap out the brake fluid to Motul DOT 5.1 and rotate the tires.

Let's see how it looks after 4500+ miles. I am close to 7000 miles now with a lot of spirited driving and a lapping day on it.
