TransmissIon Problem

A10–When I’m going around 60 and accelerate it has a hard time shifting. It’s like it stays stuck around 3200 Rpm’s. 15,000 miles. Any ideas?

expand the scenario a bit...You mean after you accelerate it hangs in gear? That is a typical scenario if that's what you're speaking about. Try tour mode and it will not hang in gear. If that's the case it's just the "performance shift algorithm". The dash displays a "performance shift active" message when it is in that mode.

I’ve tried Sport and Tour and it happens in both. I’m aware of Performance Shift mode and it’s definitely not that. It goes through the first couple of gears fine but when I get to 60-90mph it just gets hung up in a gear and won’t shift out

Does it still do this when using the paddles?

so, it goes to redline and won't shift? I'm not understanding the 3200 rpm and stuck scenario. Try the paddles in M and see what it does. Kick the shifter over to the left into the manual gate. Any warning lights? Fluid level is a sketchy thing in these A10s and this may require a dealer visit.

I’m definitely going to the dealer first thing Monday. I don’t know how to describe it other than to say it was like it was stuck in a gear around 3200 Rpm’s and wouldn’t shift out as I tried to speed up. I did not try the shifter paddles or get any error lights. I had taken the car to the dealership earlier in the day to have them change out the trans fluid per my mechanic told me there was a moisture issue with the fluid they used when the car was built in Sept ‘17. After picking the car up they fixed my AC problem but I didn’t have anything about the trans fluid change on my ticket?

OK...now we have some information which is crucial. Fluid level and type is suspect from the dealer. They must use ULV fluid and not generic Dexron 6 or HP. The fluid level is very sensitive in this transmission and I would bet it is not at the correct level if the correct fluid was used.
