Lol....yep....look at that wheel spin. And it ran 14.1 in the 1/4 with those bologna skin tires.

I just posted this on another link. Like I said though many underated #s were thrown out to throw off insurance co. as high insurance were effecting sales. The 427 was rated no where near this as listed in factory specs. Stock Hemi dynos also in the 500s.

Yeah I don't trust anything anyone just randomly posts about things like this. 1/4 mph doesn't lie when it comes to horsepower and those cars weren't making anywhere near 500 hp.

This is the world record for fastest stock LS-6 Chevelle. Using his mph and a 3800 pound race weight, it could have been more back then, it comes out to 348 hp which is probably pretty damn close.

Sure some of them like this 427 were making over 500. 1/4 times don't mean to much on Bias ply tires. That's how they were tested then.

Not times but mph, times can be lots of things but that mph will tell the tale on horsepower. Those engines were tested on an engine dyno back then with nothing attached to it and they probably weren't even all that accurate which makes sense as to why SuperChevy did a real dyno on a bone stock one and only got 283 horsepower out of it.

Man, what a total d-bag comment. Who cares what he drives you’re not superior in anyway because of a car. It’s pretty clear there’s a reason why you went for an SS, ::waves pinkie::

I agree.. the 60s and 70s cars made some really low end. I drove an old big block not to long ago.. crazy low end torque.. I agree a V6 is a fast car but it just don't have that neck wrenching off the line feel...JMHO

I got new tires put on my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee yesterday.. Well it has a V6 A8.. Maybe that will have some comparison to the original topic.. LOL

Regardless of what anyone thinks, a new A8 V6 with nothing more than a simple 327LSD swap,...will hurts feelings of 85%+ daily drivers.

No, a 305hp 5000lb vehicle has zero to do with a 3400lb 335hp one. Just stop with the weak attempts at humor.

That’s the sad part of this board. If you have a 6th gen thats not an SS or ZL1 you can’t even post in the sub forums without trolls coming in and downing you for your car. The mods are too busy picking and choosing what rules they decide to enforce that day so the people get tired of it and nobody posts here anymore. This is why the board is FLOODED with advertisements in every section now, the membership is low since everyone is moving to the Facebook groups with more activity and better moderation.
