Guess what my RWHP will be!
So I've dropped my ZL1-1LE off at Cordes performance this week. I'm excited to finally get my project underway! I've had nothing but good communication with Cordes to date so I am looking forward to getting my feet on the pedals again!
I have done heads, cams, etc on past Corvettes in small garages myself numerous times but my apartment here in Scottsdale won't allow it and since I am new I don't have access to a good lift. Here's what I'm having Joe install: Custom Cam LME ported heads DOD delete 2.3" pulley 9.06" lower Kooks 2" long tube catless MM catch can Flex fuel (keeping it probably around E50) Low side fuel system upgrade Mamo ported TB Hopefully it'll be done this week but probably next week sometime Baseline was with rotofab somewhere around 543 RWHP I believe. Soo what's everyone think it'll be next time on the dyno? |

CPR does good work. I'm guessing you'll be in the 750 RWHP neighborhood with about equal torque.

Good guess, I think that’s a solid estimate.

720/730.
Maybe consider porting the stock SC by Kong and skip the heads? No real power from the heads. Also you can move up to a 103TB. I would guess 740/760 at that point. |

Man that is a gracious dyno jet they have LOL. Mustang dyno I go to does 480-510whp auto-man on stock LT4 cars.

That’s quite a bit of pulley, are you doing anything for cooling?

The ZL1 should dyno in the 530-560 RWHP range pretty consistently. There are always outliers and variables though. Anything in the 400s is overly negative. The engines make a certified 650 HP. With a 480 RWHP dyno you're looking at over 25% drivetrain loss which is unheard of.
There is plenty of benefit to having the heads done. Do them while you're at it. As mentioned, might as well go Kong ported blower/snout/103/big intake. But don't scrap the heads. The build does include quite a bit of pulley overdrive. Ethanol helps but you'll still have some high temps if you do track work. |
