Question for my Roll Racers

Hey guys, When you do a 60 roll? Do you go in to 3rd or 4th gear? I found that it’s a bit more sluggish in 3rd. The pull feels much better in 4th.
I’m around 3500 rpm in 4th and 4500 in 3rd

2nd. You can do over 60 in 1st! Gotta love the 6-2 shift

OP try timing from 60-120 starting from 3rd then again from 4th. Whichever is faster should give you your answer.
Thank you sir well said

Roll racing is usually but not limited high HP cars. I for one love to do both, a roll and dig. Unfortunately i broke my axles at the drag strip and am now playing the waiting game for new DSS axles.

Not sure on what gear as I have not done any rolls with my new power set up.

Roll racing is the manual driver's preferred way of racing haha.

So maybe be in the 2500 - 3000 and hit it?
Pretty much, somewhere around 3000 (orange curve)

4th gear, being in higher RPM and punching it on go will always be best and let the car upshift by itself if you have a automatic, just make sure its shifting at 64-6500 rpm.

Roll racing tells you which car is faster.

Racing from a dig tells you which driver is better.

The thing is that when you race from a dig you do not need to have the faster car to win. When you roll race you do not need to be the better driver to win. So each has it's ups and downs. I personally do not care which one of us is the better driver. I want the faster car. You could have a properly setup SS that runs a better quarter mile time than my Hellcat. And that is cool. But on the highway that SS will still feel like a SS while my Hellcat at WOT will feel like something out of this world.

I agree with this. Tho I want to be a good driver and need to work on that for sure, I like having the faster car.

Agree blaqWhole 100 %, but it also depends on how important a roll race pull is to anyone compared to a time slip 1/4 mile that says my car is quicker than yours. Also the auto trans guys should race auto trans guys and manual guys stick with manual guys otherwise it just isnt fair. Remember back in the day, there were class separation for transmission.

Depends on your combo and mostly if you are auto or manual. A lot of cars Ive been in break the tires loose at high rpm hit where the low rpm start allows the power to come in smoother using the torque converter.

Roll racing from 60 mph and up , tire spin is not a issue unless your 500 horse and over at the wheel. a good drag radial nice and warm and lowered tire pressure will hold most moderately powered cars from 60 on up from spinning.
