The Worst day of m life...

Last night my dad was doing his usual workout and was doing some jump rope, about 30 mins in to it I hear him fall on the ground, and my mom screaming. I run in the bedroom and see him collapsed on the ground not breathing. I perform CPR until the fire dept. arrives and they give him a shock, loads of medicine, and compressions for 40 mins. Is heart would start beating again so on 1-25-11 around 11pm they announced my father dead, possibly from a massive heart attack, he was 43, my mom 39, my brother 13, and me 16. My mom and my grandma (my dad's mom) have been continuously crying for the last 10 hours and I feel completely hopeless. This year has seemed to turn for the worst, this is the year for SAT's, ACT's, and college applications and is one of the most important years in my life for education and this has added lots of stress. I seriously have no idea what to do anymore.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm sure your dad would want you to continue to focus on your school and family. Stay strong and use him for inspiration when you're done grieving. Hang in there...

I am very sorry to hear of you and your family's loss. I must echo what others have said, I am sure your father would want you to continue focusing on your education and all you have going positively for you.

First off, you need to talk to a school counselor and let them know what's going on. You have alot of stress in your life right now, if your grades drop or your attitude changes in school, you need to be proactive and let them know what's going on in your life.

Secondly, get some professional help to help you deal with the stress and direction of your life right now.
Is there a school psycologist or health office that can point you in the right direction for help?

I'm saddened to hear about your father. You did everything right, kept him going til the EMTs arrived, I'm sorry they couldn't save him.
It sounds like he was someone you loved & respected immeasurably. I lost my dad almost 15 years ago and it's a hole in your heart forever. Stay strong and be aware that everyone deals with grief differently, so be there for your family. They need you.
