I just bought a brand new left over 2017 ZL1 two weeks ago & with 500 miles on it I hear the clunking in the front end. Glad I searched this forum so I can tell the dealer tomorrow to check the sway bar end links. Damn thing still has the drive out tag. LOL!!!

Mine just started doing this. Going slow hitting cracks in the road it makes a thudding noise with a rattle? Is this what everyone else is experiencing? Thanks

Sad-ass engineering and quality control. Shame on you GM.

Tested for thousands of miles, confirmed by thousands of owners;

You can't (or refuse to) solve this simple mechanical issue. Year after year.

No issues so far. 3500 miles with ~280 miles on track. Fingers crossed.

A bit of clarification please. The clunk that I had was very slight. When you have the loose end link nut issue, is the clunk immediately noticeable, without question?

I did bring the car in and they said all the nuts were loose. I'm not sure I buy that. I still get that very light clunk at times. I'm thinking it's something else. My previous car, a GTI, did something like that and it was the aftermarket sway bar bushings, which require periodic lubing.

I did bring the TSB with me, including the update for the nuts. I verified with the parts department that they were in stock, but they did not change them. They said tightening is required first. Pretty dumb.

First loose end link was right side at 3900 miles. 300 miles later, now the left side has same problem. Wish they would have serviced both sides at the same time, but "your original problem was only the passenger side." This is getting old already.

I've had loose sway bar end links most of my car's life. It started rattling early on before the TSB, so I tightened them myself. They loosened again, so I retightened and used Locktite. The TSB came out with new nuts and Locktite, so since I was getting the front spring TSB done, I told them to do the sway bar end link TSB as well. Now, about 8 months later, loose sway bar end link nuts again! I took it to a local shop and they put it up on a lift. Previously, every time I tightened the nuts, it was the left side only that was loose. This most recent time, after the GM TSB, both sides were loose and the right side was the worst! At my own time and expense, I had them tightened again.

This is getting old. A $65K car rattling like a 30 year old pickup truck? Why can't they get this right?

On a 2SS, if I put the car up on ramps, will I be able to get to the nuts that loosen up and check and/or tighten them?

When I did mine on the ZL-1, it was on a jack stand and had the tire/wheel off. It was easy to get to, then.

I'm sure it was!

I would like to avoid removing any wheels if possible, hence my question. Also, didn't someone mention earlier that there had to be weight on the wheels for the looseness to show? Or am I confusing that with something else?

The other question I have is has anyone done a fix and NOT had the clanking come back?

Loctite, special washers, aftermarket end links, whatever. Am wondering if there is a permanent fix.
