I am planning a trip over to Fredericksburg, TX in October. My basics are leave sometime in the afternoon of Friday October 11th. Spend the night in Houston. Up Saturday and hopefully catch the jet stream heading west, engage afterburners and drive to Fredericksburg, TX on Saturday. I will be booking a room at the Hampton Inn.

The main point of the trip is the Fleet Admiral Nimitz National WWII Museum of the Pacific. Tickets are for 48 hours and that is not enough time. Sunday morning will be a visit to Enchanted Rock. This is a medium intensity climb of about 75 - 90 minutes in duration. The Texas Hill Country is beautiful and has some great back roads. One can spend a good bit of time on these as well.

There will be a stand in line visit to Kranky Frank's BBQ. There is a great live music scene and Fredericksburg is well suited to just walk and browse the music at your leisure, as well.

I am staying through Monday and will check out on Tuesday. I am hoping the jet stream is blowing east that day. No matter, I will engage afterburners and head back to Lafayette.
