Camaro makes Consumer Reports list of 10 most unrealiable cars
https://www.consumerreports.org/car-...reliable-cars/
Check out their ratings by brand... http://www.autonews.com/article/2017...ity-survey-fca Has GM cut the budget for Quality Control lately ? |

I hate consumer reports. For so many reason....just ticked off one more. They should stick to vacuum cleaners and Prii...

Without looking through the report, what has been the overall trend across the industry are that quality rankings have been corrupted by infotainment system issues rather than speaking to the rest of the car.

I for one think it's great that transmission and drive systems are highlighted as having issues... In particular, Torque converter problems and differential groaning need to be solved by GM. A little bad press may help... it certainly can't hurt.

Even if they're saying bad stuff about the Camaro, the publicity is good because your name is on the top of people's minds, keeping you relevant and the "Bad Boy" image is all good!

Hah, I just brought mine in for a transmission problem today - P0700 and P0716. I'm off to a very bad experience with the dealership as the wiring harness that needs to be replaced for the transmission speed input sensor is on back order with no ETA - it could be days they have it or weeks - thankfully Illinois has a lemon law so they might be buying it back if they can't get it back to 100% conformity in 29 more days!!!

What it says is to jump on the internet, research driveline / transmission specific items before purchase. If you happen to stumble upon camaro 6 or a vette website, review relevant commentary and weigh the purchase decision. For me it's highlighting a potential "bad buy" ..not a bad boy.

Consumer Reports... Way to vague to judge reliability based on their ratings.
I said goodbye to them awhile ago. Too inconsistent in reporting from year to year to really get any good data out of them. |

Tech and in car electronics do seem to be the number 1 reasons a car makes this list and I don't usually put a whole lot of faith in CR... but since being an owner and being on the forum reading about the many issues, and making trips to quite a few dealers and seeing first hand the poor fit, finish and workmanship on many Gen6's.....in my opinion quality control in many ways is lacking, now three years into production. Don't get me wrong not all have issues...but it seems to be where the wheel of quality lands on each particular unit. Remember it's Camaro owners that respond to CR and give them their opinions on their personal ownership experience. I doubt if making this 10 worst list will change anything in the future quality of the product, but unfortunately what it will do is give future prospective buyers a reason to give a second thought to buying one, new or used! Even worse they have the Camaro at the top of the list with a picture of a bright yellow car :(

That is from the article. But the way it is presented, it looks like the Camaro is the least reliable on the list. |

Consumer Reports LOVES the 6th gen Camaro.
Their readers (owners) rate Camaro reliability AVERAGE. Mustang AND Challenger are rated MUCH WORSE THAN AVERAGE (The BOTTOM rating) They love Camaro so much, Chevrolet features Consumer Reports on the Chevrolet website: http://www.chevrolet.com/consumer-reports# They're probably getting wind of the A8 torque converter failure rate.
