Price check! 1998 Z28

Thinking about buying this Z28 privately. It has 75k miles completely stock....not even a airlid lol, test drove it and from the sound of it everything was alright. He said he just replaced the clutch but I'm bringing it to my mechanic Monday to get it looked at. Price is $3,500, what y'all think? Yay or nay?

Get your mechanic to check everything. That should be closer to $5-6K if it's that nice. If it's for real, that is a fantastic price.

Talked to my mechanic, the problems are:
Shocks needs to be replaced
Rear pinion leak (a little, but not enough to drip to the ground)
E-brake needs to be adjusted
Power steering pump is recommended to be replaced (Not needed)
Other than that, he said that the engine looked fine.

What y'all think? Should I jump on it?

If the body is in good shape that's one heck of a deal. Any pics?

Go for it. When you do the shocks, toss on some springs too. That is a good deal. When I had my 99 Formula, I got 10RW with just the whisper lid.

Way too cheap. It would already be sitting in my driveway if it seemed solid. I looked at a 99 Z28 w/ 120k on it today for 6900. It's the cheapest one I've ever seen around here, unfortunately it had a few issues I didn't feel like dealing with for that price.

Paint is alright no rust, but the car's being sitting in his garage for a while and his kids been using the car as something to lean their bikes on so there's couple of white scratches but its nothing that I can't buff/polish out. The paint is a little dull but what can you expect from a 16 year old car?
I decide to buy the car and getting it monday, I'll post pics then
Oh btw any good start up mods? Already ordered a slp air lid

Lookup free ram air mod for the 4th gens. LS1.com used to have a bunch of free/cheep mods. Get a good filter for that lid. When you do the shocks, might as well do springs. Eibachs work well. I had LG Motorsports springs on my Formula. I also descreened the MAF and ported and polished it with a Dremel one night. Not sure if that is still viable, but it was cheaper than buying the ported and polished ends. Get rid of CAGS. Borla for the 4th gen is a sweet and tuneable exhaust. B&M Ripper shifter, MGW, or Pro 5.0 were the best back in the day. Loved the Ripper personally. There was also a Lou's short stick that just replaced the upper half of the factory unit. Get a good shift nob also, it makes a difference.

Lots of mod possibilities!

Actually, KBB shows private party value from around 4800-5600 depending on condition.

Price, buy from a private party.
$28xx
Good condition (based on the description of what needs to be done on it)
