I wonder how well those 285s would hold up on the back of my hellcat?

opinions?

I was looking at the pilot sport 4s for the rears of the Hellcat but if I can save $200 per tire with these i'd be willing to try them as long as they provide good traction

No resolution yet from Tire Rack. I might as well go ahead and post a couple of pictures of how I found the tires on my front porch when I got home...

WOW! That's at least as much Tire Rack's fault as it is UPS'. I thought that they took more precautions than that when they shipped tires like sandwiching them in between some cardboard.

That is not Tire Racks fault. Tires always ship just 2 banded together. Are you worried about getting scratches in your rubber? Cardboard is only added to protect the wheels when they are shipped with tires mounted and cardboard wouldn't have done anything here

I would say that first tire is fine that is barely pushed in the center of the tread. That second one however, that is screwed.

Those GYs are 285/30s and doesn’t your Hellcat use 275/40s rear tires? Your speedometer would be off using a shorter profile tire than stock.

That's damage in shipment/carrier, TireRack of all the times I've gotten from them they don't that. I want to say though memory is a little fuzzy that Tire Rack uses card board and plastic strap banding on it's tires.

the tires are fine, just pull it out back into shape when it is mounted on the wheel and inflated it will be just like new. I ordered tires from them came tied together they were all crushed like the one in your picture, no issues at all they were fine.

Holy ! Even if they said they’re fine I wouldn’t trust them on a minivan let alone a sports car. No resolution yet? That’s unfortunate. They shipped my new tire today and I should have it on Monday. FedEx is due that same day to pick up the old one. Now that I think about it I should put a sign on the damaged one so they don’t pick up the good one by accident.

Yea, the stock tires are 275/40s. I can safely mount a 285/30 on the stock 20x9.5 wheel. I’m not worried about accuracy with the speedometer. I care more about grip and the tires lasting more than 3,000 miles !

I’ve been using Nitto 555r for the last three years. They have great grip, but I’d like to try a tire that’s a little more geared towards handling and not just straight line speed.

Jesus !!!! I would be calling UPS, not tire rack. That’s ridiculous that some UPS employees didn’t have the common sense to not damage them like that. Doesn’t surprise me one bit.

I have security cam video of the driver dragging the 2 banded together up my driveway and sidewalk, scratching the one up a bit. She carried the 2 single rears, so they were fine. I think banding the 2 together was the root cause because they couldn't be stacked as easily in transport and other heavy items were stacked on top of them.

And no, there's no way I'm using the dented one. I did pop it out, but that section stayed flat. IMO and the tire shop's I use for installs the steel belts are damaged.

No, not even close. I weigh 275, and I jumped up and down on the tire trying to get it to "unfold" and it didn't even budge. 2 guys at the tire shop tried together to pull it open and it didn't even budge. They also said even if it did unfold there's no way in hell they'd ever drive on it, and I agree 100%. The steel belts are absolutely damaged in that one.
