When Function Meets Form As wheel specialists we understand that, when it comes to reducing weight and increasing stiffness in wheel spokes, there is a big difference between functional and aesthetic side milling. Instead of milling a few negligible millimeters of depth just to look cool, our engineers optimized our new motorsport blanks to create narrower yet significantly deeper spokes, with deeper side milling that is nearly 50mm wide on some wheels. The result is a stiffer “I” beam-spoke shape that also showcases a stunning aesthetic. If you haven't already, we recommend you read our technical write-up on our deeper and wider side-milling. APEXRaceParts: Have you test fit the new 18x11 +7 on a 2022 SS 1LE or ZL1 that is a California (or Washington or 48-state BCD / J6H option) car? Those have 398mm front rotors with around 3.5 to 4mm bigger radially front calipers over the regular Gen 6 ZL1-sized caliper? The copper free brakes (BCD option) for 2022 Model Year is driving that.
The larger front caliper I referenced above is also on the new CT5-V Blackwing with the same caliper body (not pistons) between the steel brake (J6H - 398mm rotor) and carbon rotor (J57 - 400mm rotor) versions. On my 18x11 +7 SM-10, I have only 3.5mm clearance to the cross-over tube on the Gen 6 ZL1 caliper. I could not properly fit that new front caliper as-is with the 18" SM-10. My Texas dealer friend has a SS 1LE inbound with those brakes, and if I get the chance, I'll try myself to verify just to check my data from measuring my caliper vs. a CT5-V Blackwing I did. Didn't have the wheels yet to check on the Cadillac. Love the new forged wheels of your coming, but, want clarity on this just in case I end up with a 2022 at some point because the larger brakes are only a $500 option. |

Wow, we’re closing in on 200 pledged and 400+ interested. Thank you to everyone who signed up and made this deal a success. For those who haven’t submitted their official pledge yet, please be sure to do so soon, or you’ll be at risk of your preferred design or color running out. Here are some lovely photos for viewing pleasure:
Technical Note As racers and automotive enthusiasts, we understand that safety is a top priority when modifying your car. In the United States, there are no testing requirements when it comes to producing wheels, leaving the industry entirely unregulated. Unfortunately, this opens the door to shortcuts and cheating by unscrupulous manufacturers. Here at APEX, we conduct extensive and expensive safety testing to ensure our wheels are safe, and results are independently validated by a 3rd party. To find out more about our testing process, and why we chose Standard Testing Labs, based in Ohio, be sure to read our technical write-up linked below. Blog: TESTING TO A HIGHER STANDARD |

Worst case, if this change does mean no 18" options, I would strongly consider if the minimal increase in thermal capacity is worth being forced to run 19" wheels or not. |

Production Update
Batch 1: The first batch of wheels is arriving at our warehouse in the first week of January. We are on track to fulfill these wheels in January as planned. We will continue to notify everyone once orders begin to ship out. Batch 2: Production is being buttoned up, and we are on track to ship orders out in March without delay. We do not expect any delays at this time and will update everyone once production is completed. Reorder Production: Due to the success of this deal, we are already producing additional wheels to arrive a few weeks after the 2nd batch. Video Q&A With Our Founder Our Marketing Director sat down with our CEO to discuss the in’s and out’s of our new Motorsport Blanks. Check out our latest episode of APEX Tech Talk to learn about the difference between our motorsport blanks and typical “street” blanks. |

Batch 1 & 2 arrival clarification:
Some of you were confused by our last update regarding the January and March arrival of wheels, and we wanted to provide some clarification. We produced a significant number of wheels, so all sizes won’t be finished at the same time. The first batch is set to ship out to customers in January, and the second batch will ship out in March. We recommend viewing the “Available Fitments” table on the deal description tab for an ETA of your desired fitment. The vast majority of participants will receive wheels in accordance with the ETAs listed on the fitment tables. However, with such a high volume of participants, it’s possible that popular sizes from the first January batch run out. Don't worry, we’re already making more and they should be ready to ship out at the end of March. Only once the deal comes to a close will we know accurate ETA dates per order as many people have backup designs and finishes selected, so a calculation can’t be made at this time. In a future update we’ll provide more detail on the options you’ll have once the deal closes, for processing your order. |

Do you have a date for when you guys will be dropping the fitments for the 19" ZLE specs? I know you had mentioned sometime in January. Thanks.

No set date yet. Probably right at the end of January. Our samples got delayed so we will need some more time to get photography and video together. Good news is the production is already underway and ahead of schedule, so the delivery dates won't change.

Shipping is on Schedule:
The first batch of wheels are almost ready to ship. Orders should be able to start shipping the first week of January, after we’ve reviewed and processed each order. This deal officially ends in three days, and we will not be able to accept any new pledges once the deal closes, so take advantage of one of the shortest fulfillment times we’ve ever had on a Group Buy. EC-7RS on a Camaro: We were unable to schedule an EC-7RS photoshoot on a ZL1 1LE before this deal ended, so we put together a nice rendering. This render simulates the 18x11” and 18x12” setup in the Anthracite finish. VS-5RS on a Camaro: We did find a VS-5RS photoshoot we did a few weeks ago that we realized wasn’t shared with the group. we’re excited to share our friend Alessandro's 6th Gen Camaro 1LE ZL1. These VS-5RS wheels are 18x11” ET7 front, and 18x12” E41 rear, paired with 315/30-18 and 335/30-18 BFGoodrich Rivals tires respectively. The finishes shown are Anthracite and Satin black. |
