Track mode

I have been hitting track mode on some on and off ramps and it is way impressive😄 I did notice it seemed a little less snappy getting on the throttle as I left the corner though. I'm assuming that's the softer throttle tip in I read about when in track mode. Anyone else notice this? I was in regular track mode not a specific race mode.

Correct, Track mode changes the torque request mapping, just like Touring, and Sport have their respective mappings. Track is the least aggressive at low pedal angles.

Yes. You even have this in Track - Sport 1 and Sport 2, I believe. This hesitation feeling goes away if you turn all of the nannies full off. Apparently, Randy Post suggested this function to GM and it does keep us safe from spinning by too abruptly giving gas out of a corner, but it is less fast if you are competing.

Well, I have a 1LE and using PTM in sport 1/2 you gets two benefits. One, nail it coming out of the corner and the car will take care of itself and you. I'm a total amatuer at 54/years old, four hours of instruction, prior drag race experience, and using PTM allows you to enjoy the car and really not worry too much. I keep getting better, but this car had so much capability. Best at Daytona was a 2:19.88. After wedding day, kids being born, this day came close, I felt like a kid with a new bike, it was amazing and highy recommend it! Trust the system, read up on it, it may not be flashy, but it helps you improve.

Cool, glad to hear I'm actually feeling what I thought and not imagining things. I love this car so much, it really is amazing. I just wish I fit in the seats a little better lol.

Track is my favorite and feels the best at WOT compared to the other modes.

Edit: Just realized this is a ZL1 thread..

WOT in a ZL1 is dangerous in any mode!

I just did some pretty aggressive driving in the Ozarks last weekend and really liked the tunability of the different track modes. The higher threshold track modes allowed for more rotation and slip, but still provided the safety blanket from letting things get too out of shape.

My father had a 2008 Corvette Z51 a few years back and when you were aggressive in that it just shut the whole thing down. The PTM in our ZL1's is just a HUGE step ahead. I never thought I would enjoy driving a car with the nannies on, but I must admit that I was wrong. Driving the ZL1 in track mode has been very, very enjoyable. It is just an amazing car.

+1 (prior 1/4 mile'r and Road Course Drv'r here)

For a 1LE, Isn't 150mph+ doing Left Turns for 20min a lot more fun than going straight for 1,320ft.

I think so, and it takes more skill, (during competing) trying to keep within inches of another's bumper @ +XXX speeds.

Enjoy

Agree it's way more fun and challenging. They configure the road course, just past the finish line you dive into the infield, come out at start of turn one. Then back stretch, chicane half way to cut speeds, back up on banking turn 3. Hit 151.4 just before starting line. Was passed by cars significantly faster, and passed others. My wife was even amazed and enjoyed the day, you really get to see how good these cars are. And as an older guy, a pretty cool hobby...
