New ZL1 polishing
Hi Everyone - Picked up my 2018 ZL1 Monday, i wanted to clay, polish and seal with Adams polishes however the dealer service writer told me i had to wait at least 30 days to let the paint cure. Any thoughts? Is he correct? The Adams tech told me to do it now. Much appreciate everyones input.

The Adams tech is right, watch what that dealer idiot tells you in the future.

Good to know is claying the car. I clay the front end and rocker panels at least every month or more. Clay bar will not harm the paint if used with soapy water and a clay bar will remove all the little contaminants that stick to the car. I tend to be compulsive when it comes to a clean car and instead of rubbing the crap out of the car to remove bits and pieces a clay bar will do it quickly without harm. Just make sure the car is wet and the clay bar is wet when using. Congrats on the new car, how about a few pictures?

Nope...detail away, what you'll be using won't hurt it in the least bit.

Tip: try not to clay too much, use the baggie test to tell if you need it, but a couple times a year is best. Claying, microscopically, is pretty abrasive.

Good move. Dealer washed my '13 ZL1 vert I bought off the truck while my back was turned. Spent about 6 hours behind the Porter Cable with Adams stuff fixing that mess, including the hood insert. Bought my '17 off the showroom floor, so it needs to go a few rounds with the PC as well.

I would clay at as soon as you can and then go back with your polish of choice. I have had new vehicles come in that were just covered in contaminants. One F250 Ford had rail dust so bad it took 4 bars of clay to get it all out and it was shocking how cloudy the paint was before vs after.

By the time that car got to you, that paint had a good month or better to cure.
