Its a little expensive but its saved me a couple times. Those couple times would have cost me the fine and court cost and being on deferred. Always a mess to get a ticket.
Escort Max 360 is the way to go! I have been saved several times now....usually from FHP...the arrows with frontb and back detections are awesome!

Laser is pretty much all they use in my area. Makes radar detectors just about useless.

To the OP - you probably already know radar detectors are illegal here. I'd recommend another option to avoid tickets. Waze has worked wonders for me, and I'm also pretty careful picking and choosing where to open it up.

I prefer a Jammer over a Detector - and both together even better. Waze also works wonders, unless you are the first one that gets caught.

Nice to see the local tax payer dollars being put to good use haha, those laser guns aren't cheap! Which is why you see KA radar still being used in most of the country.

I have a valentine in my zl1 but I use a uniden r3 and a uniden r7 in my dailys.

The r7 Is hands down the best windshield mountable detector ive ever used and they are immune to most RDD's so you should be okay even in virginia. the R3 is just as good but doesnt give you the direction arrows which I think is a huge advantage. Only thing I don't like about the r7 is how big it is and the price.

Pretty much it goes off saying, “pull over!” (Unless things have changed recently)

Funny thing is the next town over uses a white 5th Gen Camaro as an unmarked car shooting laser!

Yeah, Waze is a great app which I'm familiar with. My C5 did not have any kind of a display. But now, in the ZL1, I assume I'll be able to connect and display my Android phone and apps to the ZL1 via Android Auto?

Since radar detectors are illegal in VA I would rather not provide any additional reason to get pulled over.

+1 for feeling naked w/o it. I swap it back and forth between my Tundra and Z. As we all know, things happen a LOT faster when doing even a short WOT run in these things. Definitely saved me a lot. Number of times when i was going to give it a little rip when turning down a side road and no cars coming and KA goes off...saved by the bell...

Like others said, they have radar detector detectors. My buddy got his taken (and a ticket) when traveling through Virginia.

What would be worse a speeding ticket or "possessing a radar detector" ticket? Guess that depends on how many MPH over the speeding ticket is for.

I may take a closer look at these if they are truly undetectable:
Radenso Pro M
Escort Redline EX

Staples87, do you ever drive the Z in VA?
I do drive in VA. The Radenso Pro M goes in the Z and I have an Escort 360 that goes in the truck. I shut the Escort 360 off when I'm in VA because it can be detected and it's big, the Pro M stays on because it's hardwired and very inconspicuous looking.

This is not a very cost effective option, but the best insurance. Most fully integrated laser jammer and detector systems run $4k-$5k installed.

Maybe it could have been down but when I took a trip down in March to Williamsburg then another trip to Virginia Beach in April, it wasn't working. I had to use Chevy Nav. It allowed me to use Waze in Northern VA and DC plus all of MD though.

Depending on where you live and the type and aggressiveness of traffic enforcement, I think it would be a bargain, versus jail time, etc. I was incorrect about the 10 over, for reckless driving, apparently its 20 over.

Regardless, if I lived in Virginia, and I had a ZL-1, I would go full boat on electronic countermeasures. You can get these cars to 120 and above in just a few seconds, and sometimes you just got to let 'er rip.
