That's what I'm saying. I don't think Chevy just came up with a bogus number. But I do think they gave out the cars without passing along instructions for how to achieve the best times. It's making the cars look slow in all but the new MT review. Not that 12 is slow, but it's not fast enough to put it in the HC range which is where it's supposed to be. IMO, Chevy should have been more hands on with these reviews to explain the features. You can't leave it to reviewers and hope they have the skill/knowledge to get the most out of the car.

That definitely seems to be the case with MT. They even mentioned the Chevy engineers were at the track.

?
I doubt they re-run the tests. I'm sure what they are publishing now versus the raw feed video numbers are the corrected numbers (corrected for altitude and weather among other things). I watched the video and in it they stated that the raw numbers would be corrected once they finished the testing. Any and all the acceleration numbers they publish in the mag are corrected. So, by their usual and customary process the raw 0-60 @ 3.8 and 1/4 mile at 11.8 corrected to 3.5 and 11.5. Like it or not they correct all their acceleration data on every car tested.

If that is the case then they also corrected their data on the Hellcat they tested.

Yes, all their published acceleration data is corrected. Its their way of giving "apples to apples" comparisons. They test year round at different locations in both warm and cold weather. So, using correction factors is how they deal with that.

Actually if anyone runs 11.5 I'd love to see it.
I'm not saying it can't be done. I don't think Chevy would make it up. I'm just saying usually when a manufacturer posts a time on an unprepped track, those numbers are easily replicated or beaten by magazine folks on similarly unprepped surfaces. Not to mention a 7.9 1/8th on an actual dragstrip.

Where are the times for the manuals in the hands of normal folks. There are enough of them out there in the wild now where someone has to have had one to a dragstrip. What are their real world numbers? Did Chevy ever release the manual's numbers?
I remember hearing them say they got a 3.7 0-60 at some point in that live feed, but never heard anything better than the 11.8 1/4.

Courtney's time was due to a lot of wheel spin, probably caused by her hellacious burnout that overheated the tires. At least that's all I've seen anywhere, just the 1 burnout and trip down the track.

Yes, Chevy released a 3.7 0-60 and an 11.8 at 125 1/4 for the manuals.

That MotorTrend article was phenomenal.

To be less than a second off the Z06...and in league with those other cars, like the McLaren...this car is a very special, fast car. Camaro Team outdid themselves, and produced an awesome car!!

EDIT: Sorry guys, I goofed a bit and merged the Hot Rod thread into this one. My apologies.

11.8 just doesn't seem right. My coworker ran 12.0/12.1 in her SS with only CAI mod and stock tires.
