Getting ready for first start

I am getting ready to do my first start/crank since installing my cam. Its full of fresh Driven Oil DI-30. A few questions:

When installing the ATI damper, how many times can I use the stock bolt to install the damper, as per the instructions. I have already used it to install the damper once. Will a second time break it?

Is it okay to crank or start the car with no water in it? I want to do this in case I have to pull the water pump off again, I don't want to bother draining the radiator.

Cam timing. I am fairly certain I got cam timed correctly, but I am still nervous since I didn't remove my oil pump and couldn't see the timing dot. My process for determining alignment is as follows:

The location of the timing dot is a specific distance counter clockwise of the keyway for the crank. And ALL crank sprockets should have the keyway and timing dot in the same place.

I figure this means that I am lined up with the timing dot. The engine turns over with a wrench and doesn't get stuck anywhere (no spark plugs in).

Yes, you can crank and start it with no coolant in the system. I'd only run it for a minute or so in this configuration. Be sure to confirm that you have oil pressure then shut it down.

Lol, we just ran it open headers. Didn’t want to put the full exhaust on since it was getting late and we were getting tired. Doing this install was definitely an experience and I learned a lot of lessons I feel. I would be more than happy to give tips and advice to those looking to do their own cam install. I did my install without even lifting the engine, as I didn’t really have the people or facilities or knowledge for that.
