2018 2SS VS 2019 2SS?

I've found one of each in the same color, other than the tail lights and the hood vents are there any other differences?

TIA

The front end
Infotainment system is updated
10 speed auto transmission (if looking at autos)
Other than that...I think they are basically the same.

Also, the 2019+ SS has line lock and the cluster got the configurable launch control, both from the ZL1. Rear view camera is standard as well.

Performance-wise the two are the same, the 2019 has a slightly different tune that makes it pop and crackle more, but I think that's it.

Our of curiosity, what's the price difference?

I think forward collision alert was new on the 2019.

I preferred the front end on the 2018 but the 10spd, exhaust tone and the fact that I got a new one for the same price as a year old model made it worth it to me. The front end is growing on me.

I think the 10 speed and tail lights of the 2019 are much better than the 2018... The car will look like a newer model longer (as those are the same taillights on the 2020).

It's your call at the end of the day and nobody can tell you which is the "better" choice, let me just offer my personal opinion.

The sensible decision IMO would be to go with the 2019, it has newer software and several updated features as we listed above, so you're actually getting more for the extra dollars, plus it's closer to the current model, so it will feel more recent.

The A10 vs A8 argument a bit overblown IMO, a properly working A8 (latest fluid + TC) is just as good and actually has a higher torque rating, performance will be the same, don't expect miracles from the 10L80 in the SS. Your only risk with the A8 is whether it's fixed up or is going to shudder, but the dealership should take care of that, and you definitely need a good dealer no matter what, unless you want to fix or upgrade everything on the car yourself.

I for one cannot overlook the hideous front and the rear design changes, so upgrading is not even an option here, but if you're not partial to either look, definitely get the 2019. Not trying to start yet another argument about the design changes, just aiming to help the OP.

The smaller thinner opening below the hood on my 2018 looks "more modern" than the 2019/20 IMO.

I couldn't agree more

I know this has been hashed and rehashed but ..
hood, grill and taillights are horrendous on the 2019
2016-2018 just such a better looking car, people can say what they want but never have I seen a manufacturer scramble so hard to fix their mistake as they did with the 2019 to 2020, and I know people say taillights don't look AS BAD in person, but that's not a great selling point... they don't look AS BAD..

Some colors look better on the 2019 than others.

What color are you currently looking at?

If I had to choose based on the year alone, it’d be the 2019.

Looks aside, for 3K USD, I’d probably take the ‘19 if options were the same.
