Question My neighbors hate me

Hey guys,

Ive got 2018 ss with kooks catless Lts and a mbrp race series catback. As you can imagine its pretty loud at 5:30am going to work in the morning. What would be my best route to try and quiet it up alittle bit while still sounding good?
I was thinking maybe leave the x pipe and buy a new axle back with actual mufflers if that would even work

Thanks!

I know they are pricey, but I have a sw axleback and the difference with valves open and closed is night and day. I have kooks headers with hi flo cats. With the valves closed it sounds closer to stock in track mode, close but not exactly. So I think any muffler should help out immensely

My system is about as loud as it gets with catless ARH full headers into a AWE Touring axleback. All I do is start up in the garage, let warm up for a minute and get into gear and idle out of the neighborhood.

No issues at all doing this so far.

MBRP (race) axleback and long tubes....Yeah that's gotta bark on start up too. Anything with mufflers will help but even the stock NPP exhaust is going to be fairly aggressive at start up.

My first recommendation would be to wake up later. Second would be to look at something like the Stainless Works system or anything with an actual muffler. Maybe even tossing the stock NPP system back on.

Yeah, mufflers... they make exhausts quieter.

Most inexpensive route, assuming you still have it, will be swapping back in the stock NPP muffler into the system. Ultimately a muffler will help tone things down since the MBRP is basically a straight pipe setup. This applies whether or not NPP was on the car or not.

There's also the option of having a resonated mid-pipe in the mix but the muffler option will likely be better.

I wouldnt worry about til they made a big deal about it. Why mess with your set up unless your forced too. Neighbors come and go but sexy sounding exhaust set ups are forever !!!!

I assume starting it in the garage with the door closed for several seconds for it to tone down isn't an option if you don't have a garage?

If the garage isn't an option I wouldn't touch it until youre approached to which you can say, what I plan to say, is the "you're presence in this neighborhood isn't transparent, either". But I'm glad your recognizing it and want to be a good neighbor.

Put a muffled system on it. I wouldn’t wait till someone calls the popo, of course I wouldn’t have put on a mufflerless system to begin with. Never invite the man into your life in such a way.

...and back it in to the garage if the significant other puts up less of a fight than the neighbors!

Anything with mufflers and NPP functionality. It'll help quiet you down without to much sacrifice in the sound as you can always run NPP open outside the neighborhood.
