Nitrous‼️
Hey i have a serious question maybe you guys can help me out. I have a 16 2SS. With a forged bottom end gpi rods/pistons, NxExpress direct port holly HiRam 103NW Tb Maxamizer5 progressive, Stock Milled heads .030, custom spec cam by Pray Performance, Speced 4c Converter Circle D by prayPerfomance. Car runs on E all the time 75-83%. 1 7/8 tsp headers. Full Bmr suspension. 15inch conversion MT ProBracket. But the question is can the stock Exhaust valves hold up to a 250-300shot of nitrous progressed in. And what plugs would you use&gap i been seeing that Brisk rr12s will work perfect.

Nice build!
You’ve got me curious now about the valves. Unless there’s something that makes these like glass, I don’t see what the issue would be, so long as you keep EGT’s in check. Back in the llate 90’s I was running a 250 shot (2-stage 100/150) on a SBE 5.0. I did work the heads & put in Manley 1.60” exhausts, but they weren’t anything special, just regular old replacement valves. Only thing I will say is I had a dedicated fuel system for the spray that had race fuel (usually Turbo Blue). Just make sure the EGT’s don’t get out of hand. Beyond that RPM is going to be the next thing to keep in check. Add: One thing I would mention is be very careful with E blends & juice. They tend to use 87 octane & there is a danger the Ethanol can separate from the low octane mix. Last edited by gtfoxy; 01-25-2020 at 08:41 AM. |

That’s the no-no, well people get lucky, but look up what happens to Eblend fuel below freezing. Maybe the nitrous companies have done enough research & it’s no longer an issue, but it is a physical property of the fuel. |

I don't have the direct port but just got the plate system. I plan on running a 100-150 shot with c16 in the standalone. Did you ever run c16 in the standalone? How much timing did you pull for the nitrous and what spark plugs did you run with 100-150 shots?

What jet are you running for your fuel side on the plate? 45 or 50 psi?

Add: E85 in a DI application, as I see it, would not be an issue as chamber temp would be plenty high enough at point of injection to prevent suspensions separation. Last edited by gtfoxy; 03-20-2020 at 11:19 PM. |
