Hello -

I have a new ZL1 1LE coming in and was wondering what other members have had done. I was planning to get the entire front bumper, rockers, and lower half of the rear quarters done with PPF. Are you also doing the front fenders?

Are these worth getting to? ACS Camaro ZL1 Front & Rear Rock Guard Kit?

Yes do both, PPF in the important areas and rock guards. It’s a must if planning on owning for awhile. I went with ZL1 addons at 1/4th the price of ACS. I just didn’t see the additional $300 value in ACS product.

I suppose it depends on personal preference. I did the PPF everywhere you mentioned plus fenders back to beginning of door as well as the whole hood and am finding out that is enough. For me, the rock gaurds don't seem necessary since I did the PPF, plus I don't like the look of a "mini mudflap" on my sports car(yeah, I know they dont stick out alot, but they stick out far enough for me not to like the looks of them on my ZL1), but to each their own.

Here are the front Rokblokz on my ZLE. I think they offer the most coverage of any flaps offered and I don’t think they will be a great help. Fortunately the Rokblokz require no additional holes. So they can be removed without leaving any evidence of being mounted. I didn’t even bother putting the rear flaps on. I didn’t use any PPF. I don’t like the look of the PPF and I don’t want to try and remove it in 5 years or so when it needs updating.

I have the ACS front and rear on my ZL1. My car is black and so are guards, so they don't stand out much. They're expensive, but fit great and look like they came on the car. The fronts are held on with adhesive tape on the edge and use rivets to attach to the inner liner. I recommend them and will transfer them to the 2023 I have on order.

Whatever protection you choose, I'd do it pretty quick after purchase, since the sides will get chipped up fast.

I did the entire front clip , hood, mirrors and lower body panels.

I would seriously consider some PS4's or ESC-02 to stop that GoodYear SC3R rock throwing, not to mention better street grip/safety.

I have seen even the best PPF get damaged by constant R rubber rock throwing.

Any of the front rock gaurds are too short to be of real use. ZL1Addon's in particular are too short to protect the car they need to be at least an inch longer, or so. They work fine on the rear and I've used them on this one and my prior 1LE.

x2… I went the ACS route as well and they blend in nice with my black ZLE. Worth every penny

I haven't heard one rock hit the side of after installing the ACS ones. I only had the car about two weeks before installing them and could hear debris hitting the car from the sticky tires. I may be getting some hits under the bottom of the car though, but none on the doors or rear quarters.

A must have first mod along with the jacking pads.

They weren't cheap, I agree. $400 for the front and rears. The fronts make a bigger difference. There's not much of an impact area for the rear tires to through rocks against.

Both as soon as possible. You’ll want Xpel or Stek PPF.
