No spare tire in the 5th Gen Camaro trunk!!

Can someone please explain to me why there is no spare tire in the trunk of the Camaro! All I seen was a fix a flat can & a pump! Along with the battery! Should I get a spare to be on the safe side? I guess it’s the new thing now with these newer model cars geez!!

That can of flat fix is a bitch on a blow out. Better put some duct tape in there too!

The spare, jack, lug wrench, handle for jack was a factory option about $175. Available on LS/LT/V6 and spare wheel easily fit over non-Brembo calipers. For my SS i got option and then bought a hub adapter/spacer to allow the spare to clear the roller skates on the SS Brembo calipers. Many threads in the forum on this subject, including one I opened.

I keep AAA and just keep a extra tire & wheel in my trunk if I'm traveling.
If you keep a donut spare it's only rated for 55 MPH and limited use.

I would highly recommend a spare. I have had to use mine twice, both due to the sidewalls getting ripped open by the crappy roads in Austin. Luckily my rims weren't damaged. My car looked really weird with the spare but glad I had it and it got me home

These guys sell a spare that clears the brembos, pricey but worth it.

Why did you post a pic of a convertible trunk?

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. Odd for someone with a hard top to post a pick of a convertible of the same color, wondering wtf about a spare. I'm sure there is more to the story, but I had to do a double take on the pic. LOL!

My GM Camaro book tells aa different story. It says the donut wheel/tire was the option. Lighter weight (no spare) you pay extra. My 2SS/RS came with the goop and pump. Every other SS I have seen has the goop and pump also.

I had to add it specifically when I ordered my car. Default option was the goop and pump. AFAIK, the spare won't fit over the Brembo's, so if you have that it wasn't an option. (at least, it doesn't fit by default)
