High-pitched whine from headlights

Good afternoon all,

I had an amp and speakers installed in my 2018 SS 1LE.

ISSUE: Every time the headlights are on, the speakers whine like crazy.
- It is not a ground feedback loop.
- All components are securely mounted to fiber board in the trunk.
- Ground is secure as well.

The ONLY thing i can think of is that the crossover for the front speakers is picking up noise from the headlights.

What can i do to fix this?!?

Construct a shield for the crossover out of aluminum sheet and dump to ground.
Not sure this is really the problem, but this will eliminate the possibility of EM fields bleeding into the crossover.

It is likely HF noise being picked up from the power supply (ballasts) by your HU or by the speaker wires, here is a great article that my or may not help you, hope it does.

I would agree that speaker wire seems more likely to pick up noise than a crossover. I'm sure you can find shielded speaker wire somewhere, or maybe just twisted would be enough.
Knowing the wire market, I'm sure someone is selling platinum-shielded triple-helically-twisted speaker wire for $1000/ft.

Make sure that amp is grounded properly as well.

What type of Amp did you use ? I have a similar problem on my RS convertible, I used JBL amps because of the high level sensing, and have the same/similar issue. I then added an AudioControl LC7i, but still have the same issue. When it's in the garage, cycling the door locks turns on the headlights and the amps turn on, and you hear the whine. When the stereo is in use though, you never seem to hear it. I've tried grounding the amps to the chassis and directly to the battery. Yes I have the same system, no amp in the trunk from factory
