Welp, after 1.5 years I got my first wheel road rash

It is the worst feeling, I think I need therapy.

Took a turn too tightly in a parking lot and nicked the curb in 3 places on the rear passenger rim. 4 to 6 inches long on each.

Anyone know where the cheapest place is to get a OEM replacement?

See if you can have it refinished. A lot cheaper then a new wheel.

Refinish will prob cost you $150... and you get finish that is not OE like durable and in places it shouldn't be.

Balance that vs cost of new wheel, mount, balance, etc.

Sorry to hear! With the visibility to the right side cut off so early I feel it's inevitable...

I've managed to avoid it for about 1.5 years now too, but I know I'm gonna lose sight of a curb and forget it's there one day.

I'd just get it repaired...

Thanks all.

I will look into getting the wheel repaired, it's just my daily and I can't be without it, so that is why I was thinking to just replace it.

I'll wait until the rainy season is over then figure out what I am going to do.

It's okay, you are not alone

I curbed my passenger side rear during parallel parking 3 weeks into ownership, then one week later chipped the front on the same side on a protruding curbstone. Nothing like 4 to 6 inches, though, both are only 0.5-1.5 inches.

For several days the only thing I could see on the car was these rashes, but then it subsided. I am healed now.

Been there! It's a sickening feeling. I curbed mine once while actually trying to avoid curbing it, if you can believe that.
