Check Engine Light

CEL came on this week. Called On-Star and there are 2 codes set. A P0700 and a B3109. P0700 is transmission related but I can't find a clear reference for the B3109. Anyone know what this code is for?

Anyway, dealer appointment tomorrow......

I had a keyless entry system glitch 18 months ago that left the ignition on with the car completely dark ... and it killed the battery overnight.

The car threw the exact same pair of codes. Got two emails from onstar: one telling me to charge the car (too late) and the second to to take it to the dealer, which I of course ignored.

I jumped the car, cleared the codes and charged the battery. Never happened again.

I just had the trans fluid temp sensor replaced. It was a check engine light and code p0711. I guess that sensor is buried. They had to pull the transmission pan and the valve body out to get at it. Fluid changed out again because of all that. Luckily it was covered under warranty. Hope it doesn’t happen again.

I had the same codes codes pop up on my car. They went away the next day and haven't come backl since, but I'm getting my sensor changed out at the dealership on Monday. Hopefully it won't take them too long.

Yes still in the wake of the GM strike the dealer gave me the impression that it was a stroke of luck they had the sensor. Some other part to the fix, I forget what, they had to scrounge up from another dealer across town.

Got the car back this morning. 3 weeks in the shop. Seems to run better? Not sure yet. Shifting does seem to be smoother......
