Newly installed front splitter isn’t flush

I had the dealership install a front splitter today. I ordered the splitter when I purchased the Camaro. - When it was finished I noticed the right side of the splitter was not flush. It was offset slightly (red circle). But the left side was fine (blue circle). I went into the service department to point this out and they said, “well that is the accessory we received. When they put the bolts on that’s how it was aligned.”

Is this acceptable? If not, how is it addressed? It looks ok. But I’m so ocd about everything, I want it perfect.

Btw…don’t mind the wheels and tires. They’re 18inch wheels with winter tires I just installed. They completely removed the “coolness” of the car. I don’t even enjoy driving it with these wheels/tires.

Well, I can't notice any difference in your pics...

If you don't like the wheels and tires, put on a 2nd set of OEM wheels and get them wrapped with a different set of winter blizzaks tires. @Hotlap will be along to show you his setup soon. That's what he did for that exact reason.

I have no idea what to tell you about the splitter…I can’t tell if it’s the install, or the part itself that’s the issue. It would bother me too… but more than likely, I’d eventually get over it and move on. The splitter still looks really good and truth be told, you’ll most likely be the only one to notice the “imperfection”.

As far as the wheels, I think it’s really cool to have sleeper LT1 that can run in all seasons. A quick blip of throttle and people know what you have there. That car is kick ass and you’re smart to have a spare set.

Follow the arch of the wheel well down to the splitter… looks like the splitter is just a wee bit long and doesn’t sit 100% flush at that edge. Not super noticeable…

Ahh.. Yep, now that you pointed it out, I see it...

Well there you go OP... Unless you point it out, nobody will ever notice but you. . It would drive me nutz for a while too, but I'd get over it. It still looks awesome!

Thanks! I appreciate the response.

I’ll have to get a closer look. Maybe I can post a picture that shows the offset a little better.

FYI…The wheel and tire package was recommended by Tire Rack:

18x8 American Eagle AE901 Hyper Silver Wheels

Bridgestone Blizzak Ws90 XL - 245/50r18

I haven’t driven it in the snow yet.

The part is slightly longer on the passenger side but as others have replied it’s not noticeable unless you point it out. I really wouldn’t worry too much about it but it’s your car you know. Sometimes these composite parts aren’t perfect but it looks okay to me. Good luck!

Its been my opinion that most of those sort of addon things even the OE stuff sometimes lacks the fit and finish that you'd expect.

You can forget getting any help from the dealership.

If you want to adjust it, you will have to do it yourself. It looks like the 1LE splitter and if you to adjust it, you will need to remove the rivets on the front underside and the double sided tape which goes from one side to the other. You would need to apply new 3M tape and re-fit it to the car.

Lesson here is if you want it done right, do not go to the dealer; do it yourself.

I ordered an OEM one and installed myself. It also was slightly off. Just roll with it. Not worth the trouble IMO.

Seems every one is slightly different, mine sits just a bit short on both sides. As already mentions nobody but me ever notices though.
