Big paint tear
Hey guys, I detailed my car today to find an enormous scratch on my car. I saw it about a week ago, but I just thought it was a stick, or bird poo and when I washed it, it would be fine. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Some people are real jerks, I park as far as possible. It's in a strange area as well. My question is, would it be better to file an insurance claim and pay the $500 deductible or pay for it out of pocket. I'm worried that if I go through insurance, it will devalue my car, is this true? No one is open today so I cant get a repair quote, but I'm sure its gonna be pricey.

Out of pocket on this one. Probably close to your deductible . Sand, prep and paint. No real body work.

Phew, that's good to hear! Thanks for the input, definitely messed with my morning lol! Kids bike was my first thought, but the bike doesn't go on this side. Its such a weird spot idk how it happened. I agree though, looks like something hit it and fell down.

For this kind of scratch we have the spot repair. It’s a piece of cake for them.
