Ok I got it to work. It took a call to OnStar and one hour of my time. Because my wife had an old OnStar account with her Cruze, they added my Camaro to her account because we have the same address/home phone. I'm still not clear on all the steps reqiured, but involved setting up a 4 digit pin and then linking the my.chevrolet.com account with the OnStar account then adding the Cruze to my account, which actually ended up being HER account with my sign in and password. Still haven't figured that one out.

Anyway, in case you weren't aware, you can add vehicles to the same OnStar account at no addional cost. In my case, I got 5 years free basic service, which means my wife's 7 year old Cruze ALSO has 5 years of free basic service.

Bottom line: you need to call OnStar to activate service, you can't do it yourself on line.

HEADS-UP! Possible Scam!

Hey everyone...take heed.

I posted a comment on this thread a few days ago. In the post, I revealed that I subscribe to the AT&T Unlimited Data plan through OnStar.

The next day, I received an email that was supposedly from OnStar, telling me that my WiFi hotpot has been disabled because they were unable to process my last payment (I have payments automated from my credit card). There was a number to call and a link to click on to update my credit card info.

I called the BS flag. First, my WiFi is working fine in the car, Second, I called OnStar using the button on the mirror in my car and they said they didn't send the email and my account is fine.

Someone probably trying to run a scam on folks in this thread. Keep your wits about you!

Update: it turns out it was not a scam. My Wi-Fi hotspot turned off this morning. When I contacted OnStar, they told me that their system for processing credit card payments was having trouble, but it is resolved now. They got my Wi-Fi hotspot back up and running in about 10 minutes.

I have 2 small kids that want to use their iPads in the car so i added the unlimited 20gb to my att plan. Also I was always close and sometimes went over my15gb shared plan with just my phones. Now in the car all my phones use the unlimited data so no chance of going over any longer.
