There is an article over at the mustang forum. Apparently, the mustang doesn't fit the new direction Ford plans to go because unlike the Camaro, the mustang platform is pretty much stand alone. Not cost effective. Ford intends to go electric, hybrid, and small engines. They may lay off 10000 engineers to be more online with other car manufacturers hence the need to kill the lesser volume mustang to concentrate on more Suvs and family sedans.

Didn't mean to derail the discussion, but if Camaro sales don't pick up value/profit margins don't support the case for the camaro, just wondering if GM may kill it again. :-/ time will tell I guess.

Yeah, it is reason to pay attention at least. Hasn't the Camaro outsold the the last 2 months straight?

I bet the margin on the Camaro is pretty good compared to the Mustang, due to cost sharing across platforms.

Demand for these cars has not gone down, the auto industry is just dealing with a gross over supply of used cars. I think the profit is there on new car sales.

Would be great if it didnt impact unique cars like the 1LE, but I doubt that will be the case.

I think all you can do is a VIN look up.

The screen icon for PDR on the main menu won't be there.

I look for the icon on the infotainment screen, and if that's not shown I also look for the SD card panel on the lower dash by the drivers left knee.

You can see it on the dash above the dead pedal.

That is for Apple car play/ Android auto. When you connect your phone via the usb port in the center armrest, that symbol will become apple car play for iphones, and Android auto for android smartphones. It shows projection when no device is connected

I think the Camaro did have higher sales recently but part if that is due to folks waiting for the 2018s to hit the market. 2018 mustang is significantly updated compared to the 2017s.

Here's how I figured it didn't have PDR for reference.

They don't show the infotainment menu.

But there's no SD slot visible.

And another clue I've noticed.

Cars with PDR generally show a GVWR of 4519, and without PDR is 4517 like shown.
