Flex fuel and WOT timing question
i just installed my flex fuel sensor and i'm the stock tune. I was curious what timing people are seeing at WOT. when i looked at my data the ethonol content was 80% and my WOT timing was 21-22 dgrees. unfortunately i did not check timing when i was running straight 91 oct. so is this normal timing for 80% ethonol? right now i have an MSD intake, 95mm TB, rotofab, and the flex fuel sensor.
thanks |

Mine has 4 degrees added to the stock timing. As the E goes down such as when your someplace where E may not be available then the timing should come down at WOT depending on the amount it drops. On 72 percent my max timing when logging was 26.5 degrees.

You say you’re on the stock tune. If you haven’t made any changes to the timing tables, you won’t see any additional timing from running E. There is a table that modifies your timing advance based on E content percentage.

Ok, I thought from the factory it had a tune that advanced it a certain amount. Thanks

The Flex spark table is there but it's not populated. You need to scale the stoich table and populate the Flex table. There are threads around here with the information on how to do it.

Yes, i populated the stoich table for ethonol and i can see that the AFR is adjusted for whatever ethonol % is present as well.
