Going to check the car out today. Missed the front bumper cause truck was so high. Ripped bumper, lights, grill and hood of course. Pushed fenders back and wrecked those. Doors jacked when opening to get out. Windshield busted when pass airbag hit it and all airbags popped...Honestly I hope it's totaled because it will never be the same. If it is, I hope to be able to "buy it back" so the heart can live on in another car...Assuming the engine isn't toast from when the radiator/core hit it at 30mph...

This just hurts to look at... Looks like the Camaro crumpled well absorbing the force of the accident. And I guess by the sound of it you came out unscathed, well at least physically, maybe not mentally (cause that would make me nuts too). Just curious, how violent was the wreck from your perspective? I know from the pics it looks ridiculous. When you got out the car were you like, 'Holy Crap, there's no way this happened at 35mph!'

I don't remember it being that violent, I didn't even go forward enough to hit the airbag (although it did slam my knee, since I had my leg bent up at the time) I have no bruising from the seatbelt either. All I really remember is seeing the nose of the truck and then seeing white everywhere (airbags), heard a loud crunch. Didn't realize we'd rolled him until I kicked the door open (got hung up on the side curtain bag) and got out of the car. I wasn't looking forward until Will slammed the brakes, so I wasn't as prepared as he was.

Pretty confident it will be totaled, those crush zones at the front end of your Camaro, did what they were supposed to do.

Did the cops show up? Who got ticketed?
Only 4 of the 6 popped, seats didn't deploy. There was really no need though, since it wasn't a side impact. The crush panel in the bumper wasn't even touched, the radiator/core support and, sadly, the engine took the brunt of the impact.

Onstar had the cops on the line within minutes, and I'd say the first cop showed up in about 5 minutes. In all, two firetrucks, one ambulance, 2-3 cop cars and a state trooper (accident reconstruction expert) showed up.

Body shop had the estimate at $17,000...before they decided there may be another 15-20 hours to straighten the pass side frame. Parts alone were $10,000. Also, since the engine took a hard hit, we want it pulled and checked for cracks. Cast aluminum is fairly brittle, it doesn't like impacts.

I don't want it fixed, the damn thing flipped a truck! It will never be the same. Hopefully we'll know by the end of the day.
